Itinerary
- Day 1
Cusco
You'll arrive in Cusco and settle into your hotel in the city center. Around 1:00 pm, head out for an afternoon city tour that takes you through the Temple of the Sun (Qorikancha), then on to Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay before returning around 7:00 pm. The altitude adjustment can hit you hard, so the rest of your evening is yours to relax and get acclimated.

Cusco to Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes
After breakfast, you'll get picked up around 7:30 am to explore the Sacred Valley. First stop is the archaeological park at Pisac where you can check out the traditional market. By midday, grab a buffet lunch in Urubamba. From there, you'll walk through the cobblestone streets of Ollantaytambo before boarding a 2-hour train ride to Aguas Calientes. Once you arrive and get settled, dinner is your choice from the local restaurants.

Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu to Cusco
Start with breakfast, then take a 25-minute bus ride from Aguas Calientes up to Machu Picchu. A professional guide leads a 2-hour tour of the historic citadel, and then you have free time to wander around the outskirts and take photos. Back in Aguas Calientes by lunch, you'll have time to eat at one of the local spots and relax a bit. Later in the afternoon, board the train back to Cusco for a 4-hour journey, arriving at your hotel to wrap up the day.
