Asked on May 29th, 2023Is there an option to not share a room
Wildland TrekkingOperator•Written May 2023It is possible to have the room to yourself on out lodge based tours. You would be required to pay the single supplement fee, which varies depending on which trip you are interested in.

Asked on February 20th, 2023My wife wants to go along but she may want to skip a day of hiking. Can she skip and rejoin in the afternoon?
Wildland TrekkingOperator•Written February 2023In general, it may be possible for your wife to skip a hike. The most challenging day to have the happen would be the transition day, #3, when we check out of first hotel and do a hike enroute to our second hotel for nights three and four.

Asked on December 29th, 2022My wife is not sure if she can keep up on the daily hikes. Any options for her to go along and meet in the evening
Wildland TrekkingOperator•Written December 2022To answer your question, your wife is welcome to stay back at the lodge for some or all of the day hikes if she wishes and then join the group for dinner and breakfast etc. However, she will still be required to pay the full trip rate for herself.

Asked on February 16th, 2022What level of hiking experience is required for the "Best of the Smokies" trip. My husband and I are interested in this trip however my husband is not an experienced hiker. Would this be suitable for him?
Wildland TrekkingOperator•Written February 2022We highly recommend everyone train for our hikes regardless of having experience or not. We do not require people to have prior experience hiking. This tour is a level 3 in difficulty, with 1 being least and 5 being most challenging. Some of the trails may be harder than a "3" but you would be doing the trails while wearing a day pack weighing 10-12 pounds as opposed to a fully loaded backpack weighing 40 +/- pounds.
