Mexico City
You'll arrive in Mexico City whenever works best for your flight. In the evening, you'll meet your tour leader and the rest of your group for a welcome dinner where you'll get oriented to the trip ahead.

Mexico City
Start the day with a walking tour through Mexico City's Historic Center, checking out the main plazas and colonial buildings. Then you'll head to the National Museum of Anthropology to see the Aztec artifacts and pre-Columbian collections. The rest of the afternoon is yours to wander around at your own pace, though your tour leader will have recommendations if you want them.

Querétaro - San Miguel de Allende
Head out early to Querétaro, a UNESCO-listed colonial city with architecture dating back to the 16th through 18th centuries. After a walking tour there, you'll continue on to San Miguel de Allende, another UNESCO site with strong colonial charm. You'll do a walking tour and settle into your accommodation for the night.

Dolores Hidalgo - Guanajuato
Travel to Dolores Hidalgo for a walking tour of this historically important city where Mexican independence began. From there, you'll head to Guanajuato, a UNESCO-listed colonial city built into the hillsides where gold and silver mining created wealth centuries ago. The opulent 17th and 18th century architecture reflects that history. You'll walk through the city and check in to your hotel.

San Luis Potosí - Zacatecas
After breakfast and checking out, you'll travel to San Luis Potosí, known for its baroque architecture and colonial mansions. A walking tour of the Historic Center shows off the city's character before you continue on to Zacatecas. You'll check in and get oriented to this other UNESCO-listed colonial city.

Zacatecas
Spend the day exploring Zacatecas' Historic Center on foot, wandering the narrow streets and looking up at the balconies. You'll take a cable car up to La Bufa, the mountain that defines the city's skyline. After that, you'll visit Mina El Eden, the one mine in Mexico that's open for visitors to go inside.

La Quemada - Aguascalientes
Travel to La Quemada to see the major pre-Columbian ruins in the region with a guided tour of the archaeological zone. Then continue on to Aguascalientes where you'll check out thermal springs that have been around for about 200 years and take a walking tour through the Historic Center.

San Juan de Los Lagos - Cuitzeo - Morelia
After breakfast and checking out, you'll head to San Juan de Los Lagos, Mexico's second most visited religious destination, to see the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de Los Lagos with its paintings said to be by Rubens. Next, you'll go to Cuitzeo, a charming Magical Town right on the lake shore, to visit the 16th-century Ex Convent of Santa María Magdalena. The day ends in Morelia, known as the 'City of the Pink Stone' for its baroque and neoclassical architecture, another UNESCO-listed city.

This is your final day. You can return to Mexico City with the group in the morning, stay longer and explore Morelia on your own, or join one of the next tours if you'd like to continue traveling in the region.
