Itinerary
- Day 1
Windhoek to Sossusvlei
Your pickup happens at 9:00am from the hotel, then you'll drive south toward Sossusvlei passing through Spreetshoogte Pass. There's a viewpoint stop where you can take in the desert views stretching out in every direction. Around lunchtime you'll break at Solitaire oasis before arriving at your lodge or campsite between 3-4pm. The afternoon gives you time to cool off by the pool since the heat is intense, and an early night helps you prepare for the early start tomorrow.

Sossusvlei
You're up early for sunrise at Sesriem Gate and Sossusvlei. Climbing Dune 45 shows off the massive orange landscape, then an off-road drive takes you to Dead Vlei where ancient acacia trees stand dried and bare. If you have energy left, 'Big Daddy' or 'Big Mama' dunes offer some of Earth's highest climbs. Back at Sesriem by lunch, you'll rest for 1-2 hours to escape the midday heat. Once the temperature drops, a short trip to Sesriem Canyon rounds out the day.

Sossusvlei to Swakopmund
Today the landscape shifts from desert to coast. You'll cross the Tropic of Capricorn and navigate through Gaub and Kuiseb passes, descending into Kuiseb Canyon's dry riverbed then climbing back up as the scenery transforms. Walvis Bay comes next with a stop to see flamingos and other birds in the lagoons. After lunch you'll continue to Swakopmund for the evening. Dinner is on your own at a local restaurant.

Swakopmund to Windhoek
The drive back to Windhoek takes you through towns and rural countryside. You'll stop in Okahandja, where Namibia's largest wood carving market operates with local cooperative stalls selling traditional Namibian souvenirs. The return journey ends by 4:00pm when you're dropped at your accommodation in Windhoek.
