- Ulrich· January 27th, 2025The tour guide was pleasant company, very experienced, and well organized. The hotel was nice and the lodge was very nice. However, you should be aware that the trip takes you through remote areas in Africa and that food and accommodation cannot always be measured by European standards, no matter what you have paid for the bookingShow more
- Caroline· November 3rd, 2024An absolutely impressive and well-organized trip!Show more
- Eva· August 21st, 2024The positives first: - We were very happy with both Notty, the office staff, and our guide and driver Immanuel. Communication before the trip went smoothly and Immanuel drove us very confidently throughout the week, even on challenging terrain, so that we felt safe with him at all times. On the long journeys we also had the odd good conversation and he was able to provide us with information about some of the sights. - The individual daily destinations were absolutely impressive. Be it the dunes in the Namib Desert, the dead trees of Deadvlei or the animals in Etosha: the highlights of Namibia are united on this tour and while we were probably very lucky to see so many animals, Immanuel can also be praised for knowing the park well and knowing where/how to find animals. - The group size: There were three of us at the start. However, the third person had booked a shorter tour, so there were only two of us afterwards. So we were able to influence the trip a little with our wishes. - It is a black-owned organization, which was important to us so as not to contribute to the imbalance that still exists between the black and white population. What we didn't like so much: - If you look at it on the map, you'll see that the locations are very far apart. As a result, you spend a lot of time in the car during these seven days. You have to be aware of this beforehand. - Camping is not a good idea in Namibia in winter. Or to put it another way: If you want to camp, you should definitely bring your own sleeping bag. The sleeping bags that you can rent from the organizer are not suitable for the night-time temperatures in the desert (for us it dropped to 4°C). We upgraded for the last two nights and are still clarifying how this can be offset against the price of the unused campsites. - We may have just been unlucky, but our trip was quite chaotic as the bank card our guide had been given for expenses during the trip didn't work. As a result, there were regular delays and waiting times because Immanuel had to keep organizing cash. Even at lunch, we had the feeling that they were trying to fob us off with food from the hot food counter at the supermarket in order to make do with the cash that was always in short supply. You can easily eat in cafés or smaller restaurants with the budget you've actually calculated for lunch. That wasn't the problem. At our last lunch, we added the missing ND 60 (approx. €3) ourselves because Immanuel once again didn't have enough cash with him. In retrospect, Discovery handled our criticism very well and appreciatively and promised to pay us around €125 as compensation for the missed dinner and half of the last two nights. Overall, the tour is highly recommended. Stars: Overall: 4 Itinerary: 5 Transportation: 4 Food: 3 Guide: 5 Accomodation: 4 Tour Operator 4Show more

Asked on July 16th, 2025I am interested in a Monday to Friday options however it seems tours generally Thursday and or Tuesdays. I have a commitment to meet a friend in Victoria Falls evening of April 24 2026
- Discovery Transfers and ToursOperator•Written July 2025
If you'd prefer to start the tour on Sunday, April 19, 2026, this would give you additional time to rest before traveling to Victoria Falls on the evening of April 23, 2026. This way, you can enjoy a 5-day Namibia tour and still have ample time to travel to Victoria Falls on the evening of April 23.

- Discovery Transfers and ToursOperator•Written August 2025
Your 5-day adventure will commence on Tuesday, 21 April 2026, offering you the perfect opportunity to explore the best of Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, and Etosha at your own pace and comfort.

Asked on June 30th, 2025Is it possible at the conclusion of the tour i can secure a flight to Victoria Falls. If so I could commence with confirming my intention to join April 20, 2026?
- Discovery Transfers and ToursOperator•Written June 2025
We are happy to assist in arranging everything for your trip, including the flights to Victoria Falls. Please note that there will be an additional fee for the flights, which we can confirm once we have the details. We would like to know if you prefer your tour of Victoria Falls to be guided or if you would prefer to explore on your own.

Asked on June 10th, 2025Can you confirm the start date and end date for the dates April 20 2026? I understand you may also help with flights? I would fly Vancouver to schiphol than to Namibia correct?
- Discovery Transfers and ToursOperator•Written June 2025
If you start your trip on April 19, 2026, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy your activities and arrive in Victoria Falls on the evening of the 24th. The typical route is from Vancouver to Schiphol, then on to Namibia.

Traveler•Written July 2025I see the dates are April 21 to 25. Is there no chance April 20 to 24th which are the dates I am trying to coordinate prior to meeting my friend in Victoria Falls the evening of the 24th?
- Discovery Transfers and ToursOperator•Written July 2025
It will be quite challenging to arrange a 5-day tour departing on 21 April 2025 and still meet your friend in Victoria Falls on 24 April, unless you book a flight from Windhoek to Victoria Falls on the morning of the 24th. Given the distance and the limited number of days, doing this by road would unfortunately not be practical.

Asked on May 8th, 2025Is it possible to do this tour with pick up at airport Windhoek at 0910am on 28th Oct 25 and drop off Airport on 01Nov25 for flight departure 1530?
- Discovery Transfers and ToursOperator•Written May 2025
We do offer pickup and drop-off services to and from the airport for an additional fee of USD 25 per person, per trip. Regarding your planned schedule, it is absolutely possible to arrange a tour with airport pickup in Windhoek at 09:10 AM on October 28th, 2025, and drop-off at the airport on November 1st, 2025, for your 3:30 PM flight.

Asked on October 18th, 2024what would be the size of the group (average)? would it be possible to be picked up at airport on the first day or do we need to arrive to Windhoek the day before? is it correct that the tour ends on the Saturday in the late afternoon? with "game drive" in the Etosha NP do you mean safari? sorry, not very familiar :) will it start in the morning? how is accommodation organised? can we have single rooms?
- Discovery Transfers and ToursOperator•Written October 2024
The group size can range from 2 to 10 participants. Airport pickup can be arranged for an additional fee. We strongly recommend arriving a day before the tour departure. The safari concludes on Saturday afternoon. "Game drive" is another term for safari. Accommodation can be tailored to client preferences; clients can choose to share a room or opt for a single supplement for a private room.
