What people love about Greece Tours in July
- Mykonos & Santorini Tour - 5 Days - Premium
For such a short tour we would have liked an option to fly because too much time was lost on ferry from Santorini. Would also like more options for possible hotels.
- Greece Discovery Tour
This was the best tour, we had a great time! It was like we met family in Greece.
- 2 Greek Islands Tour - 5 Days - Paros & Santorini - Premium
Thank you for the great hotels! The one in Paros was away from the hustle and bustle of the city center. The view from our room, first floor, was ideal. Spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean room with a large bathroom and a nice terrace. In Santorini we stayed in a hotel with a view of the caldera and within walking distance to the center of fira town. We highly recommend travel zone!!

What is the weather like in Greece during July?
July brings intense summer heat to Greece especially in Athens where temperatures climb to 95°F (35°C). The islands offer natural cooling from Meltemi winds with temperatures around 82°F (28°C) in Santorini and Mykonos. Properties like the Belvedere Hotel in Mykonos provide shaded terraces while Santorini's cave hotels in Oia offer respite from the sun. Smart travelers plan their outdoor activities for early morning or evening. As one TourRadar traveler noted "the Acropolis tour was challenging in the extreme heat when we visited in peak afternoon hours."
What are the best beaches to visit in Greece during July?
The most popular beaches in July include Perissa Beach in Santorini known for distinctive black sand Kolympithres Beach in Paros with dramatic rock formations and Paradise Beach in Mykonos which draws crowds for its lively atmosphere. Beach access is convenient from properties like the Aegean Plaza Hotel in Santorini and Mykonos View Hotel. One TourRadar traveler shared: "We loved Agios Prokopios beach in Naxos during July - crystal clear waters and perfect for swimming plus plenty of beachfront tavernas."
What special events or festivals happen in Greece during July?
July's cultural calendar centers around the Athens & Epidaurus Festival with performances at the ancient Odeon of Herodes Atticus. On Kos the Hippocratia Festival celebrates Greek medical heritage while island communities host traditional "panigiri" celebrations. The Amalia Hotel in Delphi and Vienoulas Garden Hotel in Mykonos help guests connect with local events. According to one TourRadar traveler "We were lucky to catch a traditional festival in Nafplion during our July tour - the live music and dancing in the main square was unforgettable."
How far in advance should I book hotels and tours for July in Greece?
Peak season demands early planning. Book rooms at sought-after properties like the Santorini Palace or Athens Avenue Hotel 6-8 months ahead. Popular experiences such as Santorini sunset cruises and Acropolis tours need 3-4 month lead time. A TourRadar traveler noted: "We booked our July Greek Island hopping tour 8 months in advance and still had limited hotel options in prime locations - book early!"
What are the best day trips to take from Athens in July?
Key day trips from Athens include the ancient site of Delphi the monasteries of Meteora and the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion. The President Hotel Athens serves as a central base for these explorations. A TourRadar traveler recommends: "The early morning departure to Delphi was perfect for July weather - we explored the ancient site before the worst heat of the day and enjoyed lunch in the mountain village of Arachova."
