- JHJohn· June 11th, 2025Very well organized self-guided tour. Plenty of tome to enjoy the beauty of Athens. The islands were fabulous. Our favorites were Syros and Crete. With so many transfers we were concerned that something could go wrong, but with the exception of one minor glitch (which was very quickly resolved) all transfers were as smooth as silk. At the airport and ferry arrival points, there was reliably someone waiting to take us to our hotels, and the pre-arranged transfers from our hotels to the excursions, ferries and airports were similarly reliable. Athens, Syros, Mykonos, and Crete fully met our pre-trip expectations, but Santorini was a bit more commercial and tourist-overrun than we would have like. We could not have navigated any of these locations on our own (except for compact Ermoupolis on Syros), so we took at least one pre-booked excursion at each place. The historical museums in Athens (Acropolis Museum) and Heraklion/Crete (Palace at Knossos and the Historical Museum of Crete), and the Apollo Theatre in Ermoupolis, were the highlights of the trip for us. At every hotel, the breakfasts were excellent and the services are wonderful. Overall, this is a great 15-days trip. Thank you very much to Dot Travel and TourRadar. auguste· June 4th, 2025Most of the organization around this tour was excellent - especially the transfers and the Seajet ferries. Accommodation was challenging in some places, such as Syros and Mykonos. On Syros, the remote location of our accommodation in Finikas, 20 minutes from the historic city of Ermoupoli, was a shock! It was very isolated and many businesses had not opened for Summer season. The hotel and the managers were delightful, no complaints there! We caught a bus and explored Ermoupoli. There was no indication in the information that we would be isolated. Accommodation was plentiful and reasonably priced in the CBD. Simple, decent hotels in good locations, Transfers were organized and punctual, and we had no problems with the ferries... The "one excursion per stage" package was a good idea, and most of the excursions were perfect. On the other hand, the excursion to Santorini was very disappointing: from the 8:30 a.m. departure from the hotel to 4:30 p.m., we had no opportunity to eat. No stopover, only beer, sodas and chips on board! What's more, there was no commentary on board other than the names of the islands and the temperature of the water in the hot spring! nothing about history, geology, the Cyclades, everyday life... Sometimes the plans change, through no fault of the company (say, ferry schedule) but you should stay on top of it. Be aware that the great price comes at a cost. You won’t be staying in the heart of tourist land. Generally we gained from the choices. The owner of some small hotels were wonderful people eager to please. The TourRadar free eSIM saved us from potential missed connection on two occasions. Kudos for that feature. We love the self guided format and each location had virtues we would not have found on our own. - MAMargot· May 8th, 2025My trip in Greece organised by Dot Travel was wonderful. The hotels were very comfortable and in great locations whilst the staff were so friendly and helpful. The transfer drivers were always friendly and punctual and moving from one location to the next was easy and seamless. I enjoyed chatting with staff at the Sea Breeze Hotel who were also very helpful in organising tours for me. I would definitely recommend this trip if you’d like to see some of the islands. The accommodation on Santorini was well situated and pleasant. The accommodation in Crete was in a town with very little to do. Would have preferred staying in Heraklion.
