What people love about Europe Tours
- Classic Europe
It was a wonderful tour experience, where different people from USA, Canada, Trinidad, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines and Australia, come together and travel as one. Our tour guide not only shared all his travel tips with us, he also painstakingly explained all the train maps and city maps in all the states which we are in. This is to ensure that we know how to get around the city and go back to our hotel using public transport. This tour is unique because it not only brings us to the main tourist attractions but also enable us to try out local way of transportation, which is something extraordinary especially in a tour group! The optionals for the excursion on our free days were fantastic and were eye openers to all these places!

Where to start your Europe trip
London is the starting point for many European tours, with Rome and Amsterdam sharing second place. Vienna comes in third with Berlin following closely behind. Planning about 5 months in advance helps, especially if you have specific dates and cities in mind. Most first-timers travel on tours that include most of these European capitals. Our seasoned travelers suggest spending at least three days in each major city, so you have enough time for sightseeing and genuine local experiences, like food tours.
Tours for every budget
Our most budget-friendly Europe tours span 7-14 days and connect multiple countries through smart routing, for example: travel from London to Amsterdam, then follow the Rhine river through Germany before reaching the Swiss Alps. TourRadar travelers love how these tours mix guided highlights with free time. You'll see the big attractions but also immerse yourself in the local culture. Our travelers say the budget tours let them experience more places than they could manage solo for the same price.
Our luxury tours in Europe focus on putting you in special places and giving you experiences that feel personal. One popular trip lasts 14 days and includes visits to palaces in Budapest and Vienna. TourRadar travelers say they really appreciate how well the experiences are planned out. Another option takes you through the Balkans for 17 days. You stay in boutique hotels and get to go deeper into the culture, like tasting wines at small family wineries. People who book luxury trips with us like that they get to see both the famous capital cities and the quieter places most tourists miss. You might take a funicular up to Ljubljana's castle or join a cooking class in someone's home in a traditional Balkan village.

Group
9,380 tours in EuropeOur 10-14 day group tours through multiple countries bring people together while hitting Europe's highlights. The routes link major cities like London, Paris, Amsterdam and Rome, adding cultural stops that make the journey special. There's Rhine River castle-spotting, stories of gladiator battles at the Colosseum and Venetian glass-making workshops. What works well is the mix - guided morning visits then afternoon free time to wander. The social side makes these trips special; our customers often tell us about friendships that started over Paris bistro meals, Swiss cheese fondue and evening walks through Prague's old town.
Small Group
3,007 tours in EuropeThe small group tours that get the best reviews are the ones that include guided activities but also leave you time to explore on your own. The trip from Vienna to Dubrovnik runs 17 days and covers both capitals and less visited spots. You get to sit in Vienna's famous cafes for coffee and cake, then later in the trip you can take scenic walks in the High Tatras mountains. The 14 day Balkan tours get a lot of praise too. They mix active hiking in places like Durmitor National Park in Montenegro with cultural moments like eating meals with families in Albania's Valbona Valley or visiting monasteries at Lake Ohrid in North Macedonia.
Private / Personalized
2,895 tours in EuropePrivate tours in Europe give you the freedom to move at your own pace with the added benefit of a guide who knows the area inside and out. You’ll often skip the lines at major landmarks and get to see well-known places from a more personal perspective, whether that’s walking through historic streets in Rome, visiting castles in the countryside, or cruising the Seine in Paris. TourRadar travelers say one of the best parts is the balance between structure and flexibility. Most private tours include guided mornings and leave afternoons open for optional activities or free time. You can choose to explore on your own, add a visit to Versailles, take a food tour in Florence, or just relax at a café and enjoy the view.
Europe itineraries by length

7-day Europe tour packages are a great way to discover a lot in a short time without feeling overwhelmed. One of the most popular routes starts in London, continues through Paris, and then heads into the Swiss Alps before finishing in Italy. Along the way, travelers enjoy exploring sights, the scenery, and local dishes. TourRadar travelers rave about how smoothly these trips run, thanks to guides who handle the details and keep things lively. We recommend 7-day trips for first-time visitors to Europe, especially if you are short on time.

If you have more time and want to explore at a more relaxed pace, 10-day tours are ideal. A favorite tour takes you through the Baltic (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia) and Finland, where you can enjoy guided activities and free time to explore. Walk through Vilnius’s old town, admire Art Nouveau buildings in Riga, or stroll along Tallinn’s city walls. Another popular tour covers more iconic cities like Venice, Munich, Amsterdam, and Paris, where travelers enjoy major sights and local experiences, like having a drink in a rustic Bavarian beer hall.

Two-week itineraries give you the chance to slow down and explore each destination more. One of the top 14-day routes links London or Rome with Amsterdam, passing through France, Switzerland, Germany, and Italy. TourRadar travelers say they appreciate free days, especially in big cities. You can follow the group for included activities like a museum visit or explore the sights and hidden corners on your own. Plus, travelers often praise the guides for being both organized and approachable, ensuring the tour runs smoothly without making the days feel packed.
Traveler types and experiences
Solo travelers often choose the Amsterdam to Rome tour for the mix of famous sights and free time. TourRadar travelers say the guides make it easy to feel part of the group right from the start. You might spend your morning touring Krakow's UNESCO-listed Old Town with your group, then head out on your own in the afternoon to explore hidden alleys and cafes. Many travelers describe making fast friends over cruising Amsterdam's canals, long dinners in Munich's lively beer halls, and easy evening strolls through Rome's piazzas.
Couples tend to choose river cruises, especially the ones along the Danube between Vienna and Budapest. These cruises let you explore during the day and then relax at night while watching the city lights from the water. Italy is another place couples go often. They walk along Venice's canals and explore the old monuments in Rome. If you want something more active, the Swiss Alps work well. You can hike during the day and then relax in thermal spas at night. TourRadar travelers say these trips feel romantic because they don't rush you from place to place.
For young adults, multi-country Europe tours are a great way to see and experience a lot and meet people along the way. These tours usually start in London or Amsterdam and travel through major cities like Paris, Venice, and Rome. TourRadar travelers often talk about moments like acting out stories from ancient Rome, riding private gondolas in Venice, or tasting wine along the Rhine. On longer routes into Eastern Europe, you'll experience breathtaking mountains and discover small, stunning towns you've probably never heard of.
Senior travelers like Danube river cruises because they're comfortable and offer good cultural experiences without being tiring. The 11 day routes from Vienna to Bucharest get especially good ratings for running smoothly and moving at a relaxed pace. TourRadar travelers mention that the cabins are comfortable, the staff pays attention to what you need, and you never feel like you're being hurried through the cities. A lot of travelers enjoy having chances to meet locals, like spending mornings at Vollpension café in Vienna. River cruises give you a good balance of guided tours and free time, plus you get to know the other people in your group.
Family tours in Europe are designed to keep both kids and adults interested. Italy and Croatia are popular choices for families because you can hop between islands, spend time at beaches, and visit beautiful cities. TourRadar travelers point out that the guides know how to tell stories in ways that keep children paying attention. Tours through Western Europe also get good feedback, especially when they include palace visits in France or Rhine River cruises that mix city stops with things to do on the boat. These tours have enough structure to keep things moving but still give families room to enjoy each place without feeling rushed.

Our customers appreciate how the weather lets them mix cultural visits with outdoor activities - think morning walks through Prague's old quarters followed by afternoon hikes in the High Tatra mountains. The Danube river cruises from Vienna to Budapest shine in fall, when you can start days with coffee in historic cafes and end with evening strolls along less crowded riverbanks. Rhine Valley wine tastings take on extra charm as vineyards turn golden, while Amsterdam's canals offer perfect spots for watching autumn colors reflect off the water. What makes these autumn journeys special is how naturally they blend indoor cultural experiences like Viennese coffee house visits and Dutch cheese-making demonstrations with outdoor activities in places where summer crowds have thinned out but winter hasn't yet arrived.

Will I actually need a visa for my European trip?
The short answer is: it depends entirely on your passport. Most of the popular countries are in the "Schengen Zone," which means you can travel between them without border checks. But not every country is part of that club, so you have to check the rules for each place on your list. For most tourists from countries like the US, Canada, or Australia, you can stay for up to 90 days for tourism without needing a visa. If you're thinking of staying longer or working, you'll definitely need to apply for the proper visa beforehand. And here’s a pro-tip that’ll save you a huge headache: check your passport’s expiration date. It needs to be valid for at least six months after the day you plan to fly home, or you could have a major problem at the airport.
How should I get from city to city in Europe?
Honestly, trains are usually your best bet, especially for hopping between major cities. High-speed trains, like the Eurostar that links the UK with France and Belgium, are awesome, they're super fast, and you actually get to see the countryside instead of just clouds. A big tip: book your tickets as far in advance as you can. The prices creep up the closer you get to your travel date. If you're on a tighter budget, buses like FlixBus are a solid option. They take longer, but they're reliable and can save you a good chunk of money. Renting a car gives you the most freedom to explore little towns along the way, but just a heads-up: trying to find parking in big city centers can be a real (and expensive) nightmare.
When should I book my tour in Europe?
It depends on your plans. Summer (June-August) is warm and lively, but also crowded and pricey. For pleasant weather and fewer tourists, consider visiting in spring or fall. Winter is fantastic if you want to experience Christmas markets or Alpine skiing, though many coastal towns basically shut down. Southern Europe stays warm year-round, so Greece or Portugal in October can still feel like summer. Northern countries like Norway or Sweden are great in summer with long daylight hours.
How much should I budget per day in Europe?
Costs vary a lot by country. In places like Norway, Switzerland, or Iceland, expect to spend around €150 to €200 per day for mid-range travel. That covers a decent hotel, meals at regular restaurants, and entry fees for attractions. Southern and Eastern Europe are more affordable. You can get by on €80 to €100 per day in places like Portugal, Greece, Poland, or Hungary. Big cities always cost more than smaller towns, and transportation between cities adds up as well, so factor in train or flight costs separately from your daily budget.
Do I need to buy travel insurance for my trip to Europe?
Yes, get it. Medical treatment in Europe can be expensive if something happens, and many countries now require proof of insurance just to enter. Make sure your basic coverage includes medical emergencies, trip cancellation, lost luggage, and/or emergency evacuation. Those policies typically cost around 4-8% of your total trip cost. Standard plans often exclude them. Some credit cards include travel insurance when you book with them, but check what's actually covered because it's usually pretty basic. Keep a digital copy of your insurance documents on your phone and email them to yourself.
