- Day 1
Rome to Venice
Leave Rome early for a 6-hour drive to Venice. Take a water taxi (€16) to the Venetian islands. A recent visitor shared: "Venice's early evening light is magical - try to arrive before sunset for the best photos." Remember to pack light since you'll need to carry luggage across multiple bridges to reach most hotels.

Take an early drive through the Brenner Pass. Stop in Innsbruck for 2 hours to see the Golden Roof and have lunch in the Old Town. You'll reach Munich by late afternoon for an orientation walk and traditional Bavarian dinner. The 7-hour train ride through the Alps to Salzburg is scenic and relaxing. Visit Hohensalzburg Fortress using the funicular to go up. Walking down gives you great photo opportunities. For dinner try an authentic Austrian meal at a local farm outside the city. The 20-minute bus ride shows off beautiful mountain scenery.

What people love about 10-day Europe tours
- European Highlights
We (myself, husband and two teenagers) had a great time on this trip! At times a little tiring, but well worth the adventure. We had a great group of people from all around the world to travel with plus the wonderful bus driver (Marco) and guide (Sam). The accommodations and food were good; the sights were great. Just wish we had more time to spend at each of them. Good value for your money! I highly recommend Expat Explore!
- Rome to London Quest (Standard, Summer ( Until Mar '27), Classic)
I had an amazing time on contiki. Greg was such a great guide. He was organized and always prepared for the day no matter how late we were up the day before.
- Best of Western Europe
I went on a 10 day of Europe from July 22 to August 31, 2016. This was my first time visiting Europe. My tour guide Nadine and Busdriver Gary ensured that the tour was enjoyable. Nadine ensured that special events were celebrated e.g. my birthday. Efforts were made to accommodate persons with special diets. Nadine's knowledge of Europe gave us a historical and geographical perspective of the different countries thus deepening our understanding and appreciation of different cultures. Gary is an excellent driver who took us to the various destinations safely. The transportation and the accommodation were satisfactory. I enjoyed riding on a gondola, visiting Paris and the leaning tower of Pisa but the highlight of the tour was visiting Jungfraujoch railway station. It was a truly awesome and breathtaking view.
