What people love about Europe Tours in November
- Genuine Europe (40 destinations)
We joined the Europamundo Genuine Europe tour from Florence, Italy to London, England in August 2022. From Florence to Zurich our tour guide was Gaby and she was fantastic. She regularly and consistently updated the group on upcoming stops and points of interest. This was especially evident during a very unexpected stop and subsequent bus detainment by the Swiss Police for a recently experienced crack in the bus windshield. During this time she not only kept the group informed of our status, but she quickly and efficiently found rides (and in some cases trains) for her very large group to our next destination. She did this with patience and grace, not an easy task and she should be commended. On top of this the logistics for this leg of the tour was well planned and appropriate for the needs of the group. For the second part of our tour from Switzerland to London, our tour guide was Patricia. Patricia was very kind and knowledgeable, however she did not proactively address the group as much as we were used to. Additionally the logistics for this leg of the tour were very poorly planned. Even after leaving 1 hour earlier than planned on a couple of occasions we arrived late to our next destination, for example, we did miss our scheduled boat to cross the English Channel (wasn't that big of a deal as we caught the next one with 30 minutes). To Patricia's credit this group did have a large family that was consistently late for meeting times, which had to be worked around and she never lost her cool. Bathroom breaks were not planned well either, as we traveled long distances without a break (in one case it was 6 hours between bathroom opportunities). So a recommendation for this part of the tour would be that logistics be reviewed and overhauled. The buses were well maintained and comfortable, however all bus bathrooms were closed/reserved for emergencies only and passengers were actively encouraged not to use. It is suggested the Europamundo rethink this policy which will not only help with overall logistical planning but will improve patient comfort and satisfaction. The planned hotels were modern, clean, cool and comfortable, although away from City Center. The breakfasts abundant and reflective of local cuisine. Check in was always a hassle, but to be expected with such a large group.
