Asked on August 17th, 2024I was wondering if there is electricity in the areas we are camping...I have a CPAP.
Oasis OverlandOperator•Written August 2024This section of the trip is 100% camping though we do have charging facilities on the truck for your cpap machine, that's not a problem. You will just need to let us know about bringing that on the trip so we can note it on our end as we do take everyone's medical conditions seriously. We would also recommend bringing a travel battery that will hold charge for most of the nights and a power bank. On some days you may do wild camping which means there might not be electricity for several days and the truck charging portals may not be used during these times since the truck will not be moving but this will not be for more than 3 days.

Gorilla Trekking Permit = £710 per person. On our trips to Rwanda & Uganda, the opportunity of being up close and personal with a family of highland Mountain Gorillas, has to be classed as one of the most amazing wildlife encounters in Africa. Full payment is required at the time of booking and is subject to availability. Once requested your permits cannot be refunded or exchanged.

This tour is based on 100% camping at campsites. The campsites mostly have decent toilet facilities, but not always hot showers. We offer this trip all year round, and since the gorillas are located in a very small area, one should be able to see them all year round too.

Only Yellow Fever is listed as compulsory. Being vaccinated against Yellow Fever and having a valid certificate and a photocopy is deemed compulsory in nearly all the countries we visit in Africa, especially at certain borders.

It would be possible for you to leave the trip earlier. You could leave straight after trekking with the gorillas late afternoon, but that would mean having to arrange your own taxi / transport back from the gorillas on to where ever you may be going. As we will be getting the group taken to the Rwandan border straight from the gorilla trek. You would also need to have all your belongings with you to take to the gorilla trek and leave them in the transport vehicle while you are trekking.
You would also have to arrange any accommodation for yourself the moment you leave the trip.
So it is possible but it is not the easiest of options.
