Durban to Southern Drakensberg
Your Acacia vehicle picks you up north of Durban and heads inland through Pietermaritzburg toward the southern Drakensberg Mountains. By late afternoon you'll arrive at camp where you can settle in and meet the other travelers on your trip.

Guided Tour of Lesotho via Sani Pass
You'll leave the main vehicle behind today and switch to 4x4s with local guides for a tour through Lesotho. The route takes you via the famous Sani Pass into the Drakensberg Mountains to see how the Basotho people live, then you'll climb Black Mountain, the second highest road pass in Lesotho at 3240m/10,630ft where lunch is waiting for you.

KZN Battlefields to Northern Drakensberg
This day focuses on the historic KwaZulu-Natal Battlefields, which you'll tour throughout the morning and afternoon. Later you'll head to the northern base of the Drakensberg Mountains where you'll spend the night.

Royal Natal National Park
You're spending the full day in Royal Natal National Park in the heart of KwaZulu-Natal. Walking trails take you through mountainous terrain with scenic views and waterfalls, and you'll keep an eye out for San Rock Art, local wildlife, and various birdlife in the valleys and hillsides around you.

Drakensberg to Malealea, Lesotho
After re-entering Lesotho, your route goes over spectacular mountain ranges to reach your camp at Malealea, which sits between scenic valleys and hills. This landlocked country sits high in the Maluti mountains, mostly rural with communities that rely on subsistence farming.

Free Day
Today is yours to use as you want while based in Lesotho. Head out on the winding tracks along the hills, or if you're feeling adventurous, there are adrenaline activities available. Hikes to nearby waterfalls and other places of interest are also on offer.

Landmarks/POIs Malealea  - Day 7
Lesotho to Mountain Zebra National Park
You'll climb back into your Acacia vehicle and leave Lesotho behind, heading back to South Africa. As you travel to Mountain Zebra National Park the scenery stays beautiful throughout. Once there, you'll explore the wildlife reserve which is home to over 700 Cape mountain zebras plus eland, cape buffalo, cheetah, lion, caracal, and black rhino. A game drive comes next, then you'll camp inside the park.

Addo Elephant National Park Safari
You're heading into Addo Elephant National Park, South Africa's third largest park and one of the few in the world with the Big Seven. Over 600 elephants live here along with lion, buffalo, rhino, hyena, leopard, plus great white sharks and whales in the coastal waters. You'll spend most of the day exploring the reserve before heading to camp near Gqeberha Port Elizabeth for the night.

Tsitsikamma Forest to Plettenberg Bay
An early start takes you to the coast to check out Tsitsikamma Forest, which sits between the Outeniqua Mountains and Indian Ocean. The morning involves walks across the suspension bridge, forest pathways, and exploring rock pools to see marine species. You can also try the first part of the famed Otter Trail if you want. By late afternoon you'll head to Plettenberg Bay for the night.

Plettenberg Bay to Oudtshoorn
You'll have the morning to explore Plettenberg Bay on your own pace. In the early afternoon, head inland toward Oudtshoorn, known as the ostrich capital of the world. Once there, you'll go through the Cango Caves, Africa's largest show cave system, where you can see underground caverns and unusual rock formations.

Oudtshoorn to Hermanus via Cape Agulhas
Your route crosses back over the mountains to Cape Agulhas, Africa's southernmost tip where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans officially meet. After passing through farming communities you'll arrive at Hermanus, a former fishing village that's now popular for Southern-Right Whales visiting in winter months. The afternoon is free for you to wander around the town.

Hermanus to Cape Town
This final morning on the road takes you via the Overberg and coastal winelands toward Cape Town. You'll stop along the way for a wine tasting to try the region's varieties. Your trip ends when you arrive in Cape Town in the late afternoon.
