K.· July 29th, 2022Overall, the entire tour of Italy (Rome, Florence, & Venice) was very enjoyable. Me and my two teenagers learned a lot and was in awe of the architecture, scenery, and history. Our guide, Pino, was an absolute joy! He shared his wealth of experience & knowledge of Italy's history; which we really appreciated. It was "an experience" for us to see & live the vast difference of traveling accommodations & expectations of Europe compared to USA. Everything in Italy is SMALLER in size - I mean from the guest rooms, showers, train seats, & service! You need to go with an open mind or you will be disappointed at every turn. But, I think the culture and history surrounding you surely outshines these small details. The one thing I would recommend is to take advantage of the additional tours Trafalgar offers. it gives you a chance to see other areas outside the city and really gets you out of the room to explore the country. With two teens, I'm sure we would have been in the room more then I would have like if not for these tours. The tours are an additional cost, but very worth it. There was only one disappointment I had on this entire tour. It was the Gold Corner jewelry tour in Florence. The jewelry was beautiful, but completely overpriced! I personally would have skipped this, but it was part of the walking tour so we had no choice but to listen. One day when our bus ran into hydraulic lift problems we had to stop for approximately 2 hours at a gas bar. Guisseppi stepped u to the unexpected challenge and arranged for a picnic lunch while we waited. The country would be Italy and the Vatican City, since it is considered the smallest country in the world. A visit to the Colosseum is no longer included on the trip. Guests will enjoy a guided visit to the Forum, followed by an in-depth walking experience around the walls of the Colosseum.

On all our tours, you'll always need to be able to get on and off the coach without assistance. On this particular trip, there are some additional things you need to know, and places that will require a significant amount of walking as part of our tours and experiences. In Venice, we explore the city on foot, walking over bridges and in places some uneven surfaces/stairs as well as getting on and off boats. In Florence, there is a 1h15min walking tour to explore the city sights. In Rome, it is a 2.5-hour sightseeing experience at the Vatican Museums/Sistine Chapel/St.Peters, including some stairs. In both Florence and Venice, our hotel is located a short stroll to the train station, and you'll need to carry your hand-luggage during the walk.

Asked on August 15th, 2022Do you ever change hotels? The hotels in Florence and Venice did not get very good reviews; from cleanliness to air conditioning not working well and more. This prevents us from doing this tour which is unfortunate since this is the only one offering Raul's from city to city.

Sometimes we do have hotel changes on our itineraries. If there is a hotel change, only if we are informed in advance by our operations team, we would notify you as per the change(s). Otherwise I have seen the updated hotel lists within the e-documents that are sent about 3 weeks approximately before the start of the trip as long as it didn't effect the start and/or end hotel stays. So far these would be the names of the hotels for each area as listed via the Trafalgar website's itinerary page for Contrasts of Italy: - Rome (3x nights) = Grand Palatino - Florence (3x nights) = Ambasciatori - Venice (3x nights) = Principe
