I would suggest bringing some protein bars since the food is very high carb but relatively low in protein considering the trek. The horsemen were also professional and helpful. Things I have for improving this tour are: there should be a better system for getting clean water. The cooks had to boil water and store in plastic jugs. At times, the water was still warm in the jugs and it’s not healthy to have warm water in plastic. It would help them and hikers if there was a water filter to get clean water. Also, the itinerary should be updated to be more accurate. The last day is listed as a mild 10.5 mile hike. We hiked 16 miles. As there is a bit of a language barrier, it is important for the correct information to be available for planning.
