I was very pleased with the whole tour. We have a great group, interesting excursions, good hotels, delicious food and most importantly everything was perfectly organized. Our curator, Huyen Nguyen, tried very hard to make each of us feel comfortable. He managed to organize everything, so that at the end of our trip we did not want to part.

Because our tours are sold as a package we can not upgrade or change any services offered. For hotels, we use standard, comfortable tourist-class accommodations with character. These hotels would be 2 or 3-star. On the TourRadar website for the tour Essential Vietnam & Cambodia, you can download a PDF itinerary. You will be able to find the hotels we use (or similar) listed at the end of each day on our itinerary online if you wish to look up these hotels for reviews and to see photos. These hotels are subject to change, though usually they don't, and in the event that we must make changes to these hotels, we would be booking an alternative in the same service level, so the accommodations listed will, at the very least, give you an idea of what to expect.

What are the sleeping arrangements on the overnight train please? Would my husband and I have private accommodation or in with other people?

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten May 2024

Train travel in Vietnam is very basic and train cleanliness is often not a priority for train staff. Sleeper trains normally have 4 seats per compartment, which convert into sleeping bunks (two upper and two lower). A sheet, pillow and blanket are provided, although many people prefer to bring their own sleeping sheet. At times, passengers of different genders may be required to share a sleeper train berth and/or share a compartment with people not travelling in your group. Simple food is available on the train but many people like to stock up on freshly baked bread, cheese and fruit prior to departure. Water should also be bought before the journey. Train journeys in Vietnam are an experience and allow you to get a real taste of Vietnam. We do not offer the option to upgrade.

Could you please let me know what options you can provide? We are thinking of heading off to Europe after this tour for about 6 weeks before returning to Sydney mid August 2024.

We specialize in small group tours which are sold as a package. We do not do any customized tours. We do not have any tours that include 4 star accommodation in Phuket as our tours are standard comfortable 2 to 3 star accommodation. We do not have a tour that includes everything you have listed in only 9 days. The Essential Vietnam & Cambodia is 17 days long and explores Vietnam in Cambodia. We have separate tours that visit Phuket.
