- ANathan Schol· October 21st, 2022I had a fantastic trip that will stay with me for a long time. The nature was overwhelmingly beautiful at times and the history lesson you receive along the way is in-depth and detailed. You will have many moments on this trip where you will just stop and marvel at the landscapes you are surrounded by. Also the porters are just rockstars!Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewHi! So great to hear! Thank you for reaching out.Trip date: October 2022Review collected by G Adventures

- AKatherine Gibbins· October 24th, 2022Unforgettable! The people, the food, the trail, the beautiful sites, everything was perfect! I will look back on this trip and remember the smiles, cheers, high-fives and overall kindness of each of our 24 porters, the delicious food and feeling of home that our chefs were able to create, and the endless support, encouragement, laughter, smiles and culture sharing our assistant guide Almandra and head guide Enrique were able to bring us all is something I will cherish forever.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewThanks so much for your feedback - We were happy to hear that you had a great tripTrip date: October 2022Review collected by G Adventures
- ABrooke Edwardson· October 20th, 2022This trip was the best travel experience I have had so far. Our guides (Enrique and Almandra) created a family out of our group - there was so much support, laughs, and sharing of personal experiences along the way. They were extremely motivating and positive. I only have great things to say about them, and will be recommending this tour and these guides to friends and family who want to do this trip next! I was especially impressed and humbled by the hard work of the porters and chefs on the Inka Trail. They are the hardest working people I have ever come across, and I have so much respect for their dedication and hard work. They were all so kind and supportive in our journey and it did not go unnoticed.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewHi! So great to hear! - ADanielle Neal· October 10th, 2022This was a trip of a life time for me and my friends and it did not disappoint. The only detail I would give some further thought to was the way different groups who were doing different tours of the Inca trail were briefed together and this got a bit confusing, teams should be briefed separately to save time & confusion. The trip was very well organised and I enjoyed it thoroughly.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewMany thanks for your feedback! - ANatalie Simpkin· October 24th, 2022I was excited but apprehensive about the Trail in the days leading up the Inca Trail. I knew I'd put in a lot of work training and preparing for the trip but was nervous I wouldn't make it. Joel and Katya were amazing supports on the Trail and super encouraging at every stage of the journey - celebrating the achievements even when I was too tired to celebrate myself. Francisco & Cristobel's cooking was honestly some of the best food I ate in Peru with so much care and detail put into every meal! And honestly, I'm still in awe of the porter's and everything they do to make the journey more comfortable/achievable! There is no way I'd be able to have completed the trail while carrying a tent, sleeping bag, food, cooking for myself etc etc. Group 10 were so lovely and welcoming and Jason's waitering was always done with a huge smile! I'm so grateful for everything G Adventures provided and all the support from the team over the 4 day trip!Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewThanks so much for your feedback - We were happy to hear that you had a great tripTrip date: October 2022Review collected by G Adventures
- ARuth Butterworth· October 27th, 2022A great experience, made special by all of the amazing support and friendliness from everyone. Loved that we got to learn more about incan and pre-incan history, as well as the environment and culture, while also enjoying a really beautiful hike! Even though it rained and Macchu Pichu was pretty cloudy when we got there, would still definitely recommend to others and would hope to get to travel with some familiar faces from the G Adventures team if I go again.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewHi There - Thanks for the positive feedback. Asked on February 8th, 2025How challenging is the Inca Trail and what should I be physically prepared for?
- G AdventuresOperator•Written February 2025
The Inca Trail is challenging due to its altitude and rugged terrain. It's recommended to be in good physical condition and acclimatize to the altitude ahead of the trek.

Asked on January 21st, 2025Is this the Inca trail HIKING trip? I found trips that seem to be bus tours to Machu Pichu, not hiking.
- G AdventuresOperator•Written January 2025
This trip includes the 4 day Inca Trail hike. Permits are limited and can sell out months in advance.
- B
Brooke
Traveler•Written January 2025Which months are best for hiking the Inca Trail?
- G AdventuresOperator•Written January 2025
Both September and October are good months to hike the Inca trail. Less rain expected in September. October is usually preferred by travellers for best weather.

Asked on September 19th, 2024I would like to book this package with my friend but we will be paying separately (although arriving together). How do we do this through the website? I have questions about the trek itself before we book; such as: where do we get the water that we use to drink; is there any connectivity overnight in the tents, to charge cameras; if we come in a day early, can we do any of the cooking classes in Cuzco that are advertised on the Inca Discovery Plus trip; if one of us requires a special meal advertised, do we inform you on booking; are there any plane trips directly into Cuzco, or only from Lima...
- G AdventuresOperator•Written September 2024
We supply water filling stations usually at the hotels and also on the Inca Trek as well. There will be no connectivity whist on the Inca Trail as the camps dont electricity to charge batteries etc, so you would need to have spare batteries already charged. The cooking classes are not offered as pre or post activities for this trip. You would need to advise us of any special meal requirements at the time of booking, so we can make sure you are accommodated. There are no direct international flights into Cuzco, as it is really only a domestic airport. You will need to travel via Lima in each direction.

Asked on July 30th, 2024Is it possible to get a private room on any of the tour dates starting between August 23-28th? It isn't an option on the booking page, however it is an option on later bookings but I can't do those dates.
- G AdventuresOperator•Written July 2024
At this stage all of our August departures are on request, so what you would need to do is request the booking and the single supplement, which will hold your credit card for the full amount. We would then go off to our local office to see if they can confirm for you. This process takes 3-4 business days and if the trip is not confirmed, then we would not charge your card. If you are wanting to do the Inca Trail, there are no trek permits available until mid-october, so you would need to choose the Lares Trek or Cusco stay as the alternative.
- J
Joe
Traveler•Written July 2024Why are all these dates available for the trip to hike the Inca Trail if there are no permits available until mid-October? Is it possible to check with your local office and see if they have one spot left on any of the trips between Aug 23/24/25/26/27/28 start dates?
- G AdventuresOperator•Written July 2024
Unfortunately we are restricted by the number of INCA Trail permits that are available, so we offer the other 2 options as an alternative (which doesn't show up on the Tour Radar website). Once the Inca Trail Permits are sold out there is no other way that we can secure the permits.

Asked on July 12th, 2024will it be possible to hike the Inca Trail on this tour? Other tour operators say the permits are sold out, so they are going on another route.
- G AdventuresOperator•Written July 2024
We are sorry to advise that permits are now sold out for July, however we can offer you the Lares Trek instead. The Lares Trek is less popular, and you do get the sense of being alone and at one with your surroundings in a way that you don't at the Inca Trail. You'll see less ruins on this trek but you will pass through farmlands and small mountain communities so will really get a good chance to see how the local Peruvians truly live! - You will also see a lot more llamas on this trek! The Lares takes you to a higher altitude, so you'll need to ensure you take the necessary precautions to give yourself the best chance of avoiding altitude sickness. Both are equally as challenging but the Inca trail has a lot more man made steps, it is this that some people find more challenging and harder on your knees. This Trek is 3 days long (2 nights). You will then overnight in Aguas Calientes and rise early to enjoy a guided tour of Machu Picchu.
- R
Robin
Traveler•Written July 2024Is that correct?
- G AdventuresOperator•Written July 2024
None of our Inca Trail tours have permits available as the permits are sold out for all of July. The permits are set out by the Peruvian government and we do not have control once they sell out. Let us know if you're interested in the Lares Trek! It's an incredible adventure as well and totally underrated.
