Ryan· June 22nd, 2025This trip was exceptional! From the moment I arrived at the airport, a representative from Timeless Tours was there to ensure a smooth transition. The resort we stayed at in Cairo was close to the Pyramids and offered a lot of great amenities. I especially like the shops and nearby bank that made exchanging currency easy and convenient. Our guide Mina was AMAZING! He was very detailed and knowledgeable in explaining details about every place we visited. He was gracious enough to share additional details so I could update my daily travel blogs too! The Train from Cairo to Aswan was not great. The train is not new and the bathrooms were filthy from the time the train left Cairo. The wash basin cabinet door in our car was broken and would not close and banged against the wall all evening. The train horn blasted most of the evening too. I highly, highly recommend upgrading to stay another night in Cairo and fly down to Aswan. It will be worth it to get quality sleep and avoid a potentially unpleasant train experience. Other than the train, the entire trip was amazing! I would absolutely do this in a heartbeat. If you are considering a tour of Egypt that will show you a lot of everything throughout the country, this is the trip for you!!!Show more

Trip date: May 2025- PTPatricia· June 12th, 2025What a wonderful tour. Timeless Tours you did everything you promised. As a lady traveling alone, I was a bit nervous but I was met (even though it was 3.30am) even before going through passport control. We were in a private minibus super fast. The hotel was lovely, set in beautiful gardens, with a big pool. Very good food and super helpful staff. Travel was in modern air-conditioned mini buses and friendly drivers. Remy and Meena were my guides but it was Meena that travelled with me for the most part. He was incredible, very knowledgeable, patient and lots of fun. His attention to detail and making sure the group (only 2 of us) were enjoying all the wonderful experiences Egypt has to offer. I have to say that his personality and kindness was outstanding. The Nile cruise was a dream come true, as were the Pyramids and Valley of the Kings. If there was any bad part of the whole trip, it was the train. I knew it would be quite basic but was not quite prepared for how dirty it was. The state of the toilets was terrible but in saying that…obviously you don’t have any control over that, except not putting the train on your trip. Vegetarian and fish options were in abundance with excellent tastes. My mom and Aunty were old and couldn’t walk too fast, but they were accommodated. We saw so many great things , the itinerary was packed. Optional tours are too expensive, you really don’t need it just relax on the boat. The price doesn’t include tips. Additional $100 per person for tips mandatory. We extended our 7 day to a 10 day while on the trip and went with the group to hourghada (resort was brand new and awesome). However, if you would have an exra day after the tour finishes, we can do a slight change the itinerary, having Sakkara added to the Pyramids tour on day 3 of the tour and keep day 8 of the tour for the Egyptian Museum and Old Cairo for an extra cost of USD $93.

On day 3, we would be visiting Giza Pyramids and Saqqara. There won't be enough time for the Red Pyramid in Dahsure. We would start at about 8:00 am and the day tour would finish at about 4-5 pm.

If you upgrade the travel from Cairo to Aswan and from Luxor to Cairo you would have away much comfortable way to travel between these cities and save about 10-14 hours traveling on the sleeper train. In addition to having free evening in Cairo on day 3 and a free morning on day 8. The flight to Aswan takes place on day 3 at about 7 pm and would return to Cairo at about 7-8 pm on day 7.

The main difference between the Nile Jewel and the Nile Adventure is the type of accommodation from day 3 to day 6 of the tour and the way of reaching Luxor. The Nile Jewel tour includes 3 nights accommodation on a Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor including all meals. This Nile cruise sail down the Nile all the way from Aswan to Luxor. While, the Nile Adventure tour includes two nights in hotel in Aswan and Luxor for day 3 and day 5 of the tour, with an overnight stay on a traditional small boat- the Nile Felucca on day 4. The Nile Felucca is a small sailing boat that has no private rooms nor a proper bathroom. Everyone sleeps side by side using mattresses and blankets, besides it has a basic toilet. The Nile felucca sails only couple of hours around the islands in Aswan, spending the night onbaord in Aswan. In the following morning, on day 5 of the tour we take a private vehicle all the way to Luxor, passing by kom ombo temple. So, the Nile Jewel tour is more comfortable that the Nile Adventure tour with extra 4 meals included.

We have to return to the cruise before it starts sailing towards Kom Ombo. The exact return time depends on cruise schedule and group capacity. If you skip Abu Simbel tour, you'll have a free morning and can do other activities. However, Abu Simbel tour is highly recommended.

The tour guide will collect the total amount of entry fees at the briefing meeting and handle buying tickets at each site on your behalf. You may allow about Au $220 for entry tickets. You may need some cash in either AUD or USD, besides you may use your card to either pay with or withdraw local currency. Visiting Alexandria library is part of the day trip to Alexandria. We don't visit Alexandria on Fridays; We do Alexandria trip either on Saturdays for our tours that depart on Fridays and on Wednesdays for our Tuesdays group tour.
