10 Days in Egypt, incl. Cairo and Luxor
Ancient wonders span 6 cities from Cairo to Hurghada, featuring 14 meals. The Great Pyramids, traditional felucca sailing, Karnak Temple and Valley of Kings precede 3 days at Red Sea resorts. Four-star hotels and expert Egyptologist guides included.
- Days 1-2
Cairo & Giza
Get to the pyramids before 8 AM to avoid crowds and intense heat. A traveler's tip: "The early wake-up was worth it - we had almost an hour at the Great Pyramid before the tour buses arrived." Use your second day to visit Sakkara's Step Pyramid. If you're flying in during these days, book afternoon flights. Cairo's morning traffic can turn a short airport transfer into a multi-hour journey.
- Days 3-4
Aswan & Abu Simbel
Take a flight to Aswan instead of the basic overnight train. Visit Philae Temple by boat and consider the trip to Abu Simbel. Yes, it means waking up at 3 AM, but most visitors say it's unforgettable. As one tourist put it: "Abu Simbel was absolutely worth the early start. The temple's scale and preservation left me speechless."
- Day 5
Nile Journey
- Days 6-7
Luxor's Ancient Wonders
Start early at the Valley of the Kings before it gets too hot and crowded. The tombs close at 4 PM. Visit Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple in the cooler evening hours. One visitor suggests: "Bring a hat and water bottle - there's virtually no shade in the Valley of the Kings and temperatures regularly hit 100°F/38°C by 10 AM."
- Days 8-9
Red Sea Resort in Hurghada
- Day 10
Final Day in Cairo
10 Day Egypt Itinerary, incl. Cairo and Luxor
Six Egyptian cities from Cairo to Hurghada showcase their treasures. A 5-star Nile cruise for 3 nights, visits to Great Pyramids, Valley of Kings, and Karnak Temple create lasting memories. Nineteen meals plus Red Sea resort stay included.
- Days 1-2
Cairo & Giza
Start your Egypt journey in Cairo. Get to the Giza Plateau by 7:30 AM to beat the tour buses and avoid peak temperatures. Take a hat and water since the pyramids offer little shade. One traveler noted: "The early morning light was perfect for photos, and we practically had the Sphinx to ourselves before 8 AM." Visit the Step Pyramid at Sakkara later in the day when it's cooler.
- Days 3-4
Aswan & Nile Cruise
Instead of the long 14-hour bus trip take the quick 1-hour flight to Aswan. "The flight upgrade was worth every penny—we arrived fresh and ready to explore," a recent traveler shared. Take a motorboat to see Philae Temple on its island setting. Start your 3-night Nile cruise downriver and stop at Kom Ombo Temple where the twin entrances make great sunset photos.
- Days 5-6
Luxor's East & West Banks
Start early to explore the Valley of the Kings before it gets too hot. Book a hot air balloon ride over Luxor ($120) for amazing views of the temples. Visit Karnak Temple in late afternoon to see sunlight streaming through the columns. One visitor shared: "The Avenue of Sphinxes at dusk was magical—bring a tripod for photos."
- Days 7-8
Hurghada Red Sea
- Days 9-10
Final Days in Cairo
Back in Cairo visit the Egyptian Museum first thing to avoid crowds. When shopping at Khan el-Khalili bazaar expect persistent vendors. A simple "la shukran" (no thank you) usually works. One traveler suggests: "Have small Egyptian pound notes ready for bathroom attendants and bring cash for the museum as cards aren't always accepted."
10 Day Egypt Itinerary, incl. Cairo and Luxor
Seven Egyptian cities reveal their secrets, from Cairo's Pyramids to Abu Simbel's temples. Sail the Nile for 3 nights, fly between destinations, and rest at Steigenberger El Tahrir. Expert Egyptologists guide daily tours of major UNESCO sites.
- Day 1
Cairo Arrival
- Days 2-3
Cairo and Giza
Start early at the Giza Pyramids complex to avoid crowds and heat. Visit Saqqara's Step Pyramid of Djoser in the afternoon when it's cooler. The next day, explore the Egyptian Museum and Khan el-Khalili bazaar. A visitor shared: "The Khan el-Khalili gets very crowded by mid-morning - go right when it opens around 9 AM to browse the shops more comfortably."
- Day 4
Aswan
- Days 5-6
Nile Cruise
- Days 7-8
Luxor
Start with optional hot air ballooning over the Valley of the Kings. Visit the Valley's painted tombs, Hatshepsut Temple and Karnak Temple complex. A helpful tip from a traveler: "Bring small Egyptian pound notes for tomb guards who often point out hidden details - but don't feel pressured, it's optional."
- Day 9
Return to Cairo
- Day 10

What people love about 10-day Egypt tours
- Egypt Explorer - Felucca cruise & Red Sea
In 2009 I was living in London and I wanted to go to egypt for holydays. I remember that I took a magazine in which I found the trip, I thought that it would be nice to go with them because of the places that we would visit and also the price was very affordable. I was traveling on my own, so, I was a little scared, I didn´t know if there were someone to pick me up, but, yes, there was a nice guy who took me to the hotel. When I got the hotel, I meet the other people who were with me in the tour. There are very nice people, we keep in touch since then. It was fun that the egyptians call me Shakira ( I look very latin american), there were also some people who offered cammels for me. We had an amazing trip. Everything was very good but the breakfast of the first day, that vas very cold... all the rest was amazing. I love Egypt, there are many nice things to visit, specially ASWAN... We went to Hurgada for diving, it was such a good experience. I won´t forget every single moment that I spent there... The guides tour were very friendly, they always tried to make our trip as confortable as possible. Tours like this one are very good for making friends from many places. I travel with austalians, english and canadian people. I love it.
- Best Of Egypt - 5* Cruise
It was one of the best tour that I've ever experienced. I was amazed how everyone at Expat explore handled my journey in Egypt. I am deaf, was 66 y. old at the time of my visit in 2015. I was supposed to share my hotel rooms with someone, but very good surprise to have rooms just for myself. Individual guide and chauffeur (Bassam). By air from Cairo to Luxor and seaside resort instead by buses without extra costs. My experience at Egypt for a couple of weeks was very smooth and enjoyable. I would recommend Expat Explore with Hany Saleeb, he checked with me after the end of each tour to make sure if I was happy or any complain but nothing to complain. It was beyond my expectations
- 10-Day Ancient Egypt (Grand Egyptian Museum Experience)
Booked our tour at the last minute. Magdy and Walaa were very responsive and always available for questions. Michael was there in arrivals to meet us and escort us through passport control and customs and transfer us to the hotel in Cairo. Our local guides Tayeb, Ayman, Waleed, and Marwa were very good, taking the time to explain Egyptian history to us (there is so much to learn) and were always on time. Local coordinators Michael and Abdel were super professional and very kind and caring. Mohammed, our driver in Cairo was amazing. As for the tour’s sights: we were very happy we saved the Egyptian Museum until the end of our tour. This was a great way to tie everything we had learned and seen together! There were limited “shopping” opportunities (papyrus, alabaster, perfumes, jewelry) and they were truly no hassle and optional. I would make sure to add the Nubian Museum in Aswan and the Luxor Museum to your itinerary if you enjoy museums. Both are top-notch and not often visited on the tour route unless you request. 3-night Nile Cruise was on M/S Royal Esadora from Aswan to Luxor. Cabin was very nice, spacious and very clean. Staff from cabin attendants to restaurant waiters/chefs, and captain were all very professional, friendly and hospitable. Food was good. Time for relaxing on board between temple visits. Roof deck pool (too cold in December) would be great in warm weather. The pyramids are a giant tourist trap but once you get past the junk sellers and the crowds, appreciate what you are seeing and be amazed. Do go to Saqqara to see the step pyramid. Very worthwhile. We added a day trip to Alexandria which was very nice. The Library was the highlight, followed by Pompey’s Pillar. Lunch at Fish Market was of high quality and taste. Our itinerary included several lunches on day tours. In Cairo at Bonne Soirée (very clean and delicious) and in Saqqara (Pyramids Touristik Restaurant). Both were very good and nice staff, clean, and enjoyable. Make sure you visit Abu Simbel! We flew down/back from Aswan and really had a great experience. It’s a fantastic site you have to see to believe. So glad we didn’t take the bus. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Magdy and Walaa again. Very professional, well-organized, responsive, and attentive. Their staff are excellent. If you’ve always wanted to visit Egypt, now is the time!
