Quito
You'll arrive in Quito and get transferred to your hotel. Later this evening, meet up with your group for a welcome dinner to kick things off.

Landmarks Quito - Day 2
Quito
Spend the day walking through Quito's Old Town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with beautiful squares, historic churches, and colonial alleys to wander around. Head up to Panecillo viewpoint to take in the city views. Grab lunch in the old town, then head back to your hotel by afternoon.

Landmarks Quito Old Town Panecillo - Day 3
Quito to Cuicocha to Ibarra
Drive north from Quito to Cuicocha crater lake and hike the scenic trail around it at altitude between 3,100 and 3,500 meters/10,170 and 11,480 feet. This introductory hike has nice botanical scenery. Later, continue to Hosteria Palmeras, a country estate in Imbabura province.

- Day 4
Ibarra to Otavalo to San Clemente
Drive to Lake Mojanda at 3,700 meters/12,140 feet and climb Fuya Fuya, the highest point in the Mojanda massif. The final section gets rocky. After descending back to the lake, stop in Otavalo to check out the colorful textile market and look for souvenirs. Continue on to San Clemente where you'll stay with a local family.

San Clemente to Quito
Start before dawn for an early hike up Mount Imbabura. Climb to 3,500 meters/11,480 feet via steep grassy slopes, then walk along the crater rim where some sections are exposed and require careful footing. From the main summit, you'll see the surrounding area. Descend the same route and return to Quito, staying at Hotel Vieja Cuba.

Quito to Iliniza
Take on Pichincha Massif, Quito's local mountain. You'll use the cable car up to 4,000 meters/13,120 feet, then hike the well-maintained path to the rocky summit with views over Quito. After descending by cable car, drive south to stay at the base of Mount Iliniza.

Landmarks Pichincha Massif Mount Iliniza - Day 7
Iliniza
Depart at dawn and drive 30 minutes to the starting point at 4,000 meters/13,120 feet. Complete a three-hour easy hike to a small mountain hut, then tackle the more challenging rocky ridge to Iliniza North summit. The final section requires stamina and sure footing but rewards you with the accomplishment of reaching the peak. Descend directly back to the parking lot and return to Quito.
