Itinerary
- Day 1
Kigali to Bwindi
Your driver picks you up at your hotel in Kigali and takes you on a 4-hour drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, with a border crossing along the way. The route cuts through the terraced mountains of Uganda and Rwanda, the area people call the 'Switzerland of Africa' because of how green and hilly it is. You'll get to the lodge in the late afternoon, then have time to take a self-guided walk through nearby villages. After that, dinner and an early night to prepare for tomorrow.

- Day 2
Bwindi Gorilla Trekking
Start before dawn and head into Bwindi National Park for gorilla trekking. An experienced ranger guides you through the forest and talks about the plants, animals, and how the gorillas live. The actual trek takes anywhere from 2 to 6 hours depending on where the gorilla families are that day. Once you find them, you get a full hour watching them up close. Then it's back to the lodge for lunch and the rest of the afternoon to recover and relax.

Bwindi to Kigali
After breakfast, the drive back to Kigali takes most of the morning. From there, you'll head to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
