Itinerary
- Day 1
Tirana to Shkodra to Lezha
Starting early from Tirana, you'll head north toward Shkodra, a major city known for its history and setting. Once there, check out Shkodra Castle, which is the country's largest fortress, and then walk through the historic Main Pedestrian Area that goes back to 1800. The location offers nice views over Lake Shkodra, the biggest lake in the Balkans. For lunch, you'll eat at Mrizi i Zanave Restaurant where they serve traditional Albanian food. On the drive back to Tirana, there's a stop at Lezha Castle, the site where national hero Skenderbeg founded the League of Lezha back in 1444. You'll see the castle itself, tour the museum, visit the memorial, and check out some old churches before heading back to the city by evening.
