I recently spent 10 days on safari in the Serengeti and witnessed the migration. This was the fourth time that I've seen the migration, and it was just awesome as the first time. Fortunately, there were far fewer visitors than normal. I had great sightings of lions, cheetahs, and a couple of leopards. I saw plenty of giraffes, I even managed to see a caracal and four different servals.

Something you can only experience....it is amazing to watch and hard to explain. The Wildebeest are all lined up and ready to cross the river, and sometimes you just wait and watch. But when they decide to go....they all start running and it is incredble!

Greener area of the Serengeti. During the Great migration period here, we observed two different herds of wildebeest with accompanying zebras come to the far edge of the river, thinking they were going to cross but eventually opted against it. Then finally we saw a herd of about 300 wildebeests coming from the far edge in the savannah at a gallop, like a freight train, cross the Mara river, not even blinking or slowing down as they approached the river. We caught up with them on the near side of the river and followed them for a couple of kms. What a show!

Breathtaking experience if you are able to witness a crossing from the front row. Thousands of animals, crocodiles, and hippos. It was crazy.

We followed the migration trail of the wildebeast. Thousands of them, running, mooing, eating grass and we watched for a crossing. We saw one and it was a life experience.

to be honest, this is the memorable place to enjoy more than 9 crossings of wildebeest without forgetting good shots of birds and carnivores.
