I booked a trip many months ago with “Amigo Tours” through Viator (trip title "Teotihuacan Early Access & Tula Small Group Guided Tour"). Then a short while before the trip Amigo Tours I got an e-mail from the, saying that they cancelled it, and I had to contact Viator to tell Viator that I wanted to cancel. That seemed strange. When an operator cancels, it is them that is supposed to contact Viator – unless they do not want Viator to know that they cancelled the trip. I verified this with Viator. I suspect that they did not have the number of people that they wanted booked for the trip. They called it a "force majeure" reason in their unfortunate note to me. When I asked for more details, they did not provide any. I’m sure if they read this post on the Viator site (or elsewhere), they will try to put some reason to make it not look like they are the unethical company that they certainly appear to be. Now, you would assume I would have received my refund. But no, they did not do what they should have with Viator. I had to call Viator to get my refund. Viator customer service was great – I only wish Amigo Tours had a shred of the professionalism, courtesy, and ethical standing that Viator does. For the sake of your own happy travels, be very careful before booking any trip with Amigo Tours. By the way, due to their unethical behavior, I will now never get to Tula in my lifetime.
