You'll arrive in Washington, D.C. today with the afternoon and evening open. After checking into your hotel, wander around the neighborhood to get a feel for the city. Walk along the streets, grab dinner somewhere nearby, and settle in for the night. Tomorrow the real exploration begins.

Washington, D.C.
Start this morning at the White House Visitor Center to learn about the president's residence. From there, head to see the Lincoln Memorial and Vietnam Veterans Memorial at your own pace. You'll have time to walk through some of the Smithsonian museums on the National Mall before lunch. Later tonight, you'll get dressed up for a welcome dinner followed by a twilight tour of the monuments lit up against the evening sky.

Arlington to White Sulphur Springs
Head out early to Arlington National Cemetery for a narrated tour including the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Kennedy gravesites. After that, you'll stop in Front Royal for some free time to stretch your legs and grab lunch. Then it's a scenic drive through West Virginia's mountains to The Greenbrier Resort. Once you arrive, enjoy a horse-drawn sleigh ride and dinner at the resort.

After the tour, the rest of the day is yours to relax. Enjoy the resort's amenities, take a walk around the grounds, or just unwind. Dinner will be served at the resort this evening.

White Sulphur Springs to Williamsburg
You'll leave The Greenbrier this morning and head to Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's historic home and gardens. Tour the main house to see where Jefferson lived and worked, then explore the grounds and gardens around the property. After you've finished there, continue on to Williamsburg for the evening. You'll have time to check in and maybe grab dinner before settling in.

Williamsburg

You can explore the historic buildings on your own and grab lunch wherever you'd like. In the afternoon, choose between a historical interpreter tour about Revolutionary politics or a guided tour covering Native American contributions to the area. Finish with a colonial-style dinner at a historic tavern.

After that, you'll visit Mount Vernon to tour George Washington's home. Walk through the main house, explore the gardens and grounds, and visit the tomb where George Washington and Martha are buried. Back at your hotel, you'll raise a glass to celebrate the journey.
