Itinerary
- Day 1
Reykjavik to South Coast
You'll get picked up in Reykjavik and head directly to the Golden Circle. At Þingvellir National Park, you can walk through the dramatic rift valley and see where tectonic plates meet, which holds real historical weight for Iceland. The Strokkur geyser shoots water into the air roughly every 10 to 15 minutes, so you'll catch multiple eruptions if you time it right. Gullfoss waterfall comes next, and it's a powerful drop that lives up to the hype. After grabbing lunch, you'll drive south to Reynisfjara's black sand beach where basalt columns rise up from the shore and create that distinctive look. From there, it's on to your hotel on the South Coast for the evening.
Included Activities
- Guided tour of Þingvellir National Park including rift valley and historic Parliament site
 - Visit to Geysir geothermal area to see Strokkur geyser eruptions
 - Visit to Gullfoss waterfall

South Coast Exploration
This morning after breakfast, you can choose to add an ice cave tour or just explore the area at your own pace. If you go for the ice cave, November through March means a super-jeep ride onto Vatnajökull Glacier to see the Crystal Blue Ice Cave, while April to October takes you to Katla Ice Cave instead. Both have that distinctive blue color from the compressed ice. Later in the day, you'll head east to Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon where icebergs drift around in the water. Diamond Beach is just a quick walk away, maybe 5 minutes, and you'll see chunks of ice scattered across the black sand creating quite a contrast.

South Coast to Reykjavik
Today you're heading back west. You'll start at Vík by checking out Reynisdrangar sea stacks from the black sand beach, then continue to Skógafoss waterfall. This one drops 60 meters and spans 25 meters across, creating a real thundering presence that often produces rainbows on clear days. Seljalandsfoss is your next stop, also at 60 meters high, and what makes it different is you can actually walk behind it through the mist on a pathway carved into the rock face. After that, you'll make the drive back to Reykjavik, arriving in the late afternoon to wrap up your 3 days.
