- AWAdam· January 8th, 2025A BIG WARNING TO ALL THOSE WHO ARE THINKING OF BOOKING THIS TRIP. My partner and I recently went on this tour. We had pre-booked rental of 2 x hiking boots & 2 x waterproof pants. Both of which were not provided by the tour operator, meaning we had to hike through ice, snow and rain in our own footwear and pants. We were relying on these items of clothing being provided to us to ensure our safety and warmth, but were massively let down by Arctic Adventures. Our own footwear and pants are now ruined, and we are both covered in bruises and cuts from constantly falling over on the ice. I suggested that a good faith and fair resoultion woild be for arctic adventures to cover the cost of our damaged shoes, however they chose to refuse this. This debacle was a sign of things to come, as the tour in general was badly planned, operated, communicated and just overall bad. Don't be like me and ignore the unfavourable reviews of this tour and tour company. Just don't book it. Trust me.Show moreArctic Adventures commented on this reviewDear Traveler, We genuinely appreciate your constructive feedback, as it is vital for us to understand our customers' perspectives and improve our services accordingly. - SBStephanie· February 1st, 2024This was a fantastic tour! We had great weather the first few days, cold but dry and clear. We managed to do the glacier hike which was beautiful! The second half of the tour the weather turned so the volcano hike had to be cancelled. Shame to miss it but still enjoyed a great holiday.Show moreTrip date: January 2024
- LWleonie· November 27th, 2023We had a really great trip, the landscape was amazing, Iceland will not dissapoint you! We had a wonderful guide, who gave us lots of information and really made the trip convenient and relaxed. Due to the weather conditions and the vulcano activity not all scheduled activities could take place. Our guide came up with a great alternative for one canceled activity, but we also had to fill a full day. This was a bit complicated and could have been made easier. But we managed and had a wonderful trip!Show moreTrip date: November 2023

- NSNick· April 14th, 2023Our tour guide (Hylmar) was not approachable, informative or trustworthy. Many of the facts he mentioned proved to be untrue by other guides along the trip. none of the tour members felt comfortable to ask questions after the first day. Especially 1 on 1.. The sites we’re very impressive, but felt rushed as there was a packed agenda.Show moreArctic Adventures commented on this reviewDear Nick, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us regarding your recent experience on the Arctic Adventures tour. - BMBarry· March 19th, 2023Thé tours were well organised. We were looked after and had great accommodation The glacier hike was intense but an incredible experience The volcano excursion was amazing A bonus on the golden circle trip was the northern lights. It would have been helpful to have known where we were booked in overnight on our day before the last day tour so we could have booed to stay the extra night to save the hassle of finding alternative accommodation Apart from that it was excellent with tour guides friendly and very happy to keep us updated with history and other informationShow moreTrip date: March 2023
- ALAlexis· March 7th, 2023We took the 4 days tour which was separated 3 + 1 (volcano hike). Golden circle was interesting, though some more historical information on Thingvellir would be appreciated. We did not have enough time to see the site. Skogafoss is a beautiful waterfall, but quite different in winter from the photo on the site since the path behind is closed. Fee (I am not sure how their name is spelled), our glacier guide was the best for sure but the ice cave in this tour is minuscule and different from photos online (1 person fits in). No one in the tour understood we arrived at the ice cave. The Svinafellsjokull glacier was skipped, only seen from distance in the car driving, which is a scam. Thor tried to be funny but wasn't so easy to connect with and didn't have any patience and almost left before the start of the tour (we weren't sure of which van to take and received a call from Arctic Adventures with a hidden number when he had already left, we had to run after the van 5 min late). Hotels were ok. Other than that, Iceland is an amazing place and wherever you go, surprises are waiting for you. In lava tour, you shouldn't expect to see hot red lava and enough time to discover even the cold lava. Northern tour lights was also a failure since it was our only chance to see it that night, we went to a place where the sky was covered by clouds and miss all the show while everyone that stayed in the city we saw it. Christophe was funny and could cheer us up, still it doesn't pay off since the whole point of our trip was to see the lights.Show moreArctic Adventures commented on this reviewDear Traveler, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback about your recent 4-day tour experience with Arctic Adventures. - DRDiedre· November 27th, 2022Honestly, I'm extremely disappointed. Friday November 18, 2022 I was scheduled to meet for pickup for my tour. My flight arrived on time and I cleared customs quickly. I had pre-arranged for transportation from Reykjavik Airport to 22 Hill Hotel and was told 45 min. In theory I should have arrived between 745am and 8am. At 850am the bus driver announced that road to Reykjavik was closed and that a detour was being taken. I contacted the tour company through a message online, which was only way thus far I had been contacted. I explained and asked for instructions. I got no response. At 1030am I arrived at 22 Hill Hotel and my phone reconnected and I received an email from tour company telling me I would miss my your. I emailed back and got no response. I tried calling but my phone would not connect and ring through. About 2pm I returned to hotel and checked for any messages which there were none. The woman at the hotel helped me and called Arctic Adventures and explained what happened and they wanted me to resend my email with ARC number on it. I did. I got a call from Arctic Adventures telling me what hotel the tour group was staying at. He told me to join the group. I said ok, not realizing the hotel was 260km away. There is no train system in Iceland and the woman from hotel where I was standing said that it would be difficult if not impossible finding a bus. A taxi or Uber would be a huge expense and they could even refuse. The woman at hotel called Arctic Adventures back and explained the distance. A man called me back and said he could put me on a 3 day tour the next day as I was flying out of Iceland on Tuesday November 22. So I agreed. He then canceled everything else with no other help or accommodation. I had to find hotel for Friday night and pay for that. I went on 3 day tour the next day without issue. Then Monday comes and the group is returning to Reykjavik mid-afternoon. Someone brings up northern lights tour and one of the girls messaged Arctic Adventures to change her tour from Tuesday the 22 to Monday the 21st. She got a response in about 15 minutes. So I messaged and asked if I could be accommodated on Monday as well since I was leaving Tues and would miss it. I didn't get a reply until the next day. As much as I spent on my entire booking, I think it would have been a good business move to not only allow me on the northern lights tour but to also cover the night at the hotel that I had to pay for last minute, after all, I did prepay for all of that. There was no way for me to predict a road closure in another country. It was circumstances beyond my control. I understand that the trip is not refundable, but being that I could not foresee the road closure and total lack of communication on the part of Arctic Adventures, I would have thought a little effort to help me salvage my lost tour would have gone a long way. As an Independent Travel Agent I will not be booking any clients through this group and I plan to share my unfortunate trip with my professional colleagues as well. As a customer and a female traveling solo in a foreign country, your lack of communication and empathy completely disappointed me and I will not be a repeat customer. This really could have been a positive experience for both me as a customer and a travel agent and you as a tour company. Please note, we will not cover the taxi expense.
