Fly to Cuzco in the Andes, then drive down to the lower Urubamba Valley. You'll stop at the Sunday market in Chinchero to browse textiles, jewelry, and fresh produce alongside rural shoppers. Next, visit a weaver's family to see how they work llama wool into elaborate garments.

Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu
Drive to Ollantaytambo and explore the Inca fortress and its village, which looks much the same as it did centuries ago. Board a panoramic coach train that winds through the Urubamba Valley to Aguas Calientes, then take a bus up the mountain to Machu Picchu. You'll see the sun temple and Temple of the Condor before heading back by train.

Pisac - Cuzco
Travel through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, passing towns that have remained largely unchanged since the empire's height. Check out the market and fortress at Pisac, then continue toward Cuzco. Cuzco

Cuzco to Puno
Leave Cuzco and travel through the Andes toward Puno on Lake Titicaca. Along the way, visit the Viracocha temple and Raqchi, then stop at the baroque village church in Andahuaylillas. You'll reach La Raya Pass at over 4,300 meters, then cross the Peruvian Altiplano with herds of llamas and alpacas before arriving in Puno by evening.
