Itinerary
- Day 1
Vientiane
After you arrive at the airport, you'll get picked up and taken to your hotel. If time works out, there's a half-day city tour through Vientiane that hits the main temples. You'll see Wat Sisaket with thousands of little Buddha statues inside, then the former royal temple Wat Prakeo, check out That Luang Stupa, and drive past the Patuxay Monument.

Vientiane to Xiengkhuang
You'll head to the airport for your flight to Xiengkhuang, and once you land, the tour takes you out to Site 1 of the Plain of Jars. This archaeological area has hundreds of large stone jars spread across the plateau. After exploring, you'll get transferred to your hotel for the night.

Xiengkhuang to Luang Prabang
Start early at the Central Market in Phonsavanh to watch hilltribe people trading. From there, you'll drive toward Luang Prabang with stops along the way to see the Buddha images at Thampra (over 200 years old) and visit Hmong and hilltribe villages. The drive itself is nice with mountain views and forest scenery through the region before you reach Luang Prabang.

Luang Prabang
You'll take a cruise upstream on the Mekong River through quiet countryside and reach Pak Ou Caves with thousands of gold Buddha statues inside. Stop by Ban Xanghai village to see how they make rice wine there. Later you'll visit traditional villages and Ban Phanom, known for hand weaving. In the afternoon, tour through the Royal Palace Museum, then see Wat Xiengthong with its distinctive low-sweeping roofs, plus the Wat Visoun stupa and the shrines at Wat Aham and Wat Mai.

Depending on when your flight leaves, you'll have some free time to relax. Then you'll get driven to the airport for your departure flight.
