You'll arrive in Florence by plane or train, and depending on your timing, there's space to wander around and get your bearings. Since you're staying right in the center, it's easy to walk the streets at your own pace, find a spot to relax, or take a stroll along the Arno river and start getting to know the city.

Florence
Your tour guide meets you at the hotel for a walking tour through Florence. You'll start at Santa Maria Novella church, then check out the busy San Lorenzo market. The cathedral, bell tower, and baptistry come next, with their colored marble facades on display. After grabbing lunch, head up to Piazzale Michelangelo for views across the city, then visit San Miniato al Monte church. Later, you'll walk back through the historic center or spend the evening exploring the streets and soaking in the local atmosphere.

Florence
The day is yours to spend however you'd like in Florence. There's an optional guided tour available that focuses on the Medici family history, taking you through the green cloister at Santa Maria Novella, the Basilica of San Lorenzo with its Medici chapels, Palazzo Riccardi, Palazzo Vecchio, and Palazzo Pitti across the river. This tour also covers Ponte Vecchio, the Galleria Palatina, and Boboli Gardens to show how influential this family was.

Florence
You can join an optional half-day guided tour of the Uffizi Gallery in the morning if you're interested in Renaissance art, with pieces by Giotto, Botticelli, and da Vinci. The tour wraps up around lunchtime, and from there you can stay in the galleries longer or do whatever you want with your afternoon. Other options include taking the bus to Fiesole for some quiet time and views, grabbing Italian coffee, shopping at local fashion stores, or just exploring Florence on your own.
