- RARichard· May 10th, 2025Well balanced trip and our guide was awesome. Great memoriesShow moreHighland Explorer Tours commented on this reviewHi Richard, thanks for your 5 star review. - Benoit· May 6th, 2025The organisation was good and Paul the driver/guide was very professional, arranging yet making sure we respected timings, etc. The overall itinerary was good. However the Dunvegan Castle on the 2nd day and the train ride on the 3rd day should we included in the tour by default. There is nothing else to do otherwise on the afternoon of the 2nd day, and it means the third day has no real highlights and we do a lot of driving just to get people there and back. We wanted to do the train (it was one of the main motivation to pick this particular tour) but unfortunately I hadn't understood the need to book it at the same time as the tour, and to this day still don't understand how I would have done that on TourRadar. I messaged when I realised just to be told it was booked out, So it was a mixed experience really. Scotland delivered at least.Show moreHighland Explorer Tours commented on this reviewHi Benoit thanks for your 3 star review. We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your tour with us. Paul is an amazing driver guide and we will pass your feedback on. There is always an option to add on the optional experiences with us for the steam train... Show moreTrip date: April 2025

- JDJacqueline· February 3rd, 2025The trip was excellent. Our tour guide, Graeme, did a wonderful job, regaling us on all things Scottish, was so considerate, and very helpful. He recommended restaurants and other places to buy food, and made extra stops when requested. For our tour of Skye, the weather cooperated, even in the middle of winter, making the trip truly the best Scotland has to offer.Show moreHighland Explorer Tours commented on this reviewHi Jacqueline thanks for your 5 star review. - CBCharlotte· September 24th, 2024Our tour to the Highlands and the Isle of Skye was excellent. Our guide Paul, with Highland Explorers, was very pleasant and informative and considerate of the needs of his passengers. Our room at The Skye Inn was very nice and the breakfast provided also great. The frequent stops for sightseeing and the train ride were enjoyable. Our favorite stop was Dunveggan Castle.Show moreHighland Explorer Tours commented on this reviewHi Charlotte, thanks for your 5 star review. We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your tour with us. - Highland Explorer ToursOperator•Written March 2025
We recommend one reasonably sized suitcase or piece of baggage and one small carry on bag per person, up to a maximum weight of 15kg (33lbs). Maximum size is 67cm x45cm. You may find it useful to bring a small bag in which to keep your purse, a reusable bottle of water and anything you might need during the day. You can bring this bag onboard the bus with you and store it in the overhead luggage rack. Passengers are required to carry their own luggage while travelling with us.
