- SShirley· April 28th, 2025The itinerary, guide, accommodation...everything was fantastic! i should have read some of the fine print so i would have known we were going to be walking 15,000 to 25,000 steps per day, and always taking public transportation. It was also my neglect of fine print that caused me to miss out on extra activities that needed to be booked ahead of time. Have 2 pairs of very good, broken in shoes, and prepare for all seasons. I have a new appreciation for the country and the people!Show moreThe Dragon Trip commented on this reviewThanks so much for your wonderful review! Asked on May 13th, 2025I have two weeks to tour Japan's main sites. I hope to locate a reasonably priced 10-12-day tour, and I may join it.
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written May 2025
I'll check if we have anything available, however, I think it's very unlikely at this stage. Additionally, our tours typically start in Tokyo and finish in Osaka.

Asked on April 18th, 2025is it possible to catch the bullet train on this tour?
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written April 2025
Yes! You will ride the high speed bullet train (Shinkansen) on Day 8. It departs Hiroshima to bring you into Kyoto. It's one of the highlights of the trip.
- L
Leslie
Traveler•Written April 2025how many people are on this trip?
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written April 2025
There's currently no one booked onto the trip departing on the 7th September 2026. There's 8 people booked onto the trip departing on the 15th September 2025.
- L
Leslie
Traveler•Written April 2025how much would it be?
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written April 2025
Private departures are typically at least 35% more expensive than joining an existing group tour. The minimum price per person would be 6750 USD. However, we would need to submit a request with our Japan team and the price can be higher.

Leslie
Traveler•Written May 2025Septt 7th would be better for us but we would be willing to join a very small tour with others. we would also need pre nights
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written May 2025
The only available departure date for a group trip in September 2025 is the 15th. The maximum group size for this trip is 17 people. We currently have 8 guests booked onto this date already. How many additional pre-nights would you need?

Asked on February 8th, 2025I was looking at your Japan Plus 11-day Culture Tour: Golden Route in November. And it is not clear how we travel from location to location each day. Can you please provide more information on this?
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written February 2025
For this tour, all local transport is included. Transportation primarily consists of public metros, buses, and trains, including the famous Shinkansen. There are no private buses, so be prepared for lots of walking as well! You'll also receive an IC card preloaded with enough credit to cover transportation for all included activities. This card will be collected back on the last day of your trip. For optional activities or independent exploration, you'll need to top up the card yourself as needed.

Asked on January 21st, 2025Our soccer team would like to travel from northern Germany to the Veterans World Cup in Tokyo in September/October with about 50 people. can you help us plan our trip?
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written January 2025
Were you interested in following a similar itinerary to the Japan 11-day Plus Culture Tour you selected? Or would this be a case of us working out a bespoke itinerary around the World Cup?
- C
Carrie
Traveler•Written January 2025We are currently planning our trip to Japan. We will definitely be going on the trip in September/October. As we are planning with around 40 people, we still need time.

Asked on January 17th, 2025I'm a very active and fit 67 year old. This year and last I trekked in Nepal. Is the top age limit stated strict at 59?
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written January 2025
Unfortunately, as we use youth hostels which have strict age policies, the maximum age limit for the tour is 59. We do have a great alternative - our Japan Plus tour which will use hotels instead.

Asked on December 5th, 2024does this tour include a trip on the bullet train
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written December 2024
Yes, you do use the Bullet Train on this tour, for instance, you would travel by Bullet Train between big destinations such as Hakone (Odawara Station) and Kyoto. We can also assist with arranging your Bullet Train tickets from Osaka back to Tokyo on the last day!

Asked on October 22nd, 2024I'm traveling with my grandson who will be 17. Your trip states 18 minimum. Is that ok or not.
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written October 2024
We do have some flexibility with the age range and can accept a 17-year-old on this tour. There are some 18+ activities they may not participate in, but our adventure leader can provide recommendations for alternatives.

Asked on September 30th, 2024I've taken multiple adventure tips with intrepid travel and am in great shape. I'm 81 and my grandson who I'm taking to Japan is 16. I know the trip age range is from 18 to 80 but want to know if we could still go on this trip. Also, what is the average age on this trip and general nationality make up of your groups(Australia, Britain, USA, Asia, etc.) It sounds like a great trip.
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written October 2024
Unfortunately, the minimum age for this tour is 18 so we would not be able to help this time.

Craig
Asked on September 28th, 2024Is the October 14, 2024 tour still available for two people?
- C
Craig
Traveler•Written September 2024We're unable to go on your scheduled November departure because of another commitment. Is this tour offered privately for two people? If so, what is the cost? We love the itinerary that you have created for this trip. Since we can't do the October and November trips, I would like to know if you have any alternative suggestions.
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written October 2024
The minimum group size for a private departure is unfortunately 4 people. We do have more departure at the start of next year during the cherry blossom season.
