7 Days in Italy, incl. Rome and Venice
Five iconic Italian cities reveal their treasures, from Rome's Vatican Museums and Colosseum to Venice's glassblowing workshops. Fast-track access to major sites, dining at a 15th-century Tuscan estate, and UNESCO landmarks like Pisa's Leaning Tower included. Luxury coach transport and expert local guides at approx. $380 per day.
- Days 1-2
Rome
Start in Rome when the main sites are quietest. Visit the Vatican Museums early (aim for 8:00 AM) to see the Sistine Chapel before the crowds pour in. After lunch visit the Colosseum and Roman Forum with afternoon tickets to avoid the midday sun. In the evening walk with locals during passeggiata around the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps when the lighting is stunning.
- Days 3-4
Venice
Take the high-speed train from Rome to Venice (3.5 hours). Book seats on the right side for the best views. Start your Venice visit with an early morning walk through quiet backstreets before the day-trip crowds arrive. Visit St. Mark's Basilica right when it opens at 9:45 AM. The lines get very long by 11:00 AM. Visit Murano island's glassblowing workshops in the afternoon when they're less busy.
- Day 5
Verona & Pisa
Visit romantic Verona to see Juliet's House and the Roman Arena. Head to Pisa next and arrive around 3:00 PM when tour groups start leaving and the light is perfect for Leaning Tower photos. A recent visitor noted: "Skip the crowded central restaurants—we found an excellent local place just two blocks behind the Tower entrance."
- Day 6
Florence
- Day 7
Return to Rome
7 Day Amalfi Coast Itinerary, incl. Sorrento and Capri
The Amalfi region reveals itself across 5 destinations: Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento, Positano, and Capri. UNESCO Pompeii ruins, Path of Gods hike, and Capri island excursion highlight the tour. Five nights at a family-run lemon farm provide authentic experiences.
- Day 1
Naples Arrival & Orientation
Plan to arrive in Naples before 3pm to make the best use of your first day. The city's traffic can be difficult to navigate so it's smart to arrange a private transfer from the airport. One traveler suggests: "Skip the market in Naples and head straight to the charming local streets near the historic center - much more authentic atmosphere."
- Day 2
Naples to Sorrento via Pompeii
Leave early for Pompeii which is about an hour away. Spend 2-3 hours exploring the archaeological site. You'll find smaller crowds and cooler temperatures in the morning. A verified traveler shares: "Our Pompeii guide was amazing and well worth the stop. The details about daily Roman life really brought the ruins to life." After Pompeii head to Sorrento and check into your agriturismo which is usually about 15 minutes uphill from the town center.
- Day 3
Sorrento & Lemon Farm Experience
Start your day touring the lemon groves and learning about limoncello production. One guest noted: "Luigi's limoncello demonstration was a highlight - so fun and informative." In the afternoon try your hand at making pizza with local ingredients. Your agriturismo's hillside location offers beautiful bay views but remember it's a steep walk into town. Budget €15-20 for taxis each way.
- Day 4
Path of the Gods Hike
Start the famous "Path of the Gods" trail early before it gets too hot. The full hike takes 5-6 hours and you'll need good walking shoes. Some sections have steep drops but the views make it worthwhile. When you reach Positano take the scenic boat ride back to Sorrento which takes 1-2 hours depending on stops. A recent hiker suggests: "Bring plenty of water and sun protection - there's little shade on the trail."
- Day 5
Free Day in Sorrento
Take time to explore Sorrento. Begin at Piazza Tasso to experience local life then walk to Marina Grande for fresh seafood lunch. Visit the Correale Museum for €7 to enjoy its garden views. A helpful tip from a traveler: "The Basilica di Sant'Antonino is free and less crowded in the afternoon - don't miss the ancient silver votives."
- Day 6
Capri Day Trip
- Day 7
Departure
Allow 90 minutes to get back to Naples by car. Book afternoon flights to avoid morning traffic. If you're traveling to other parts of Italy direct trains run from Naples to Rome (1 hour) and Florence (3 hours).
7 Day Puglia Itinerary, incl. Lecce and Alberobello
Puglia's charm spans 8 distinct destinations including Lecce, Otranto, and Gallipoli. The tour features UNESCO-listed Alberobello's trulli houses, baroque churches, and daily cooking lessons at the olive farm. Artisanal producers and historic coastal towns round out the experience.
- Day 1
Brindisi & Olive Farm Introduction
Begin your Puglia adventure at a traditional masseria near Brindisi. Tour the 11-hectare olive estate and see organic oil production. If you visit between October and January, you'll catch the olive harvest season. Your first evening includes authentic Puglian cuisine. "Emilio's dishes showcased the region's varieties using fresh ingredients picked directly from the farm's garden," one traveler noted.
- Day 2
Castro & Santa Maria di Leuca
Visit the beautiful Adriatic coast with stops at Marina Serra and Acquaviva before reaching Castro. Book lunch at a local Castro restaurant early since they get busy with locals by 1 PM. In the afternoon, visit Santa Maria di Leuca, Italy's easternmost point, and stop for photos at the impressive Ciolo bridge.
- Day 3
Gallipoli & Lecce
Start in Gallipoli's historic center on its island location. "Walking the bridge to the Greek Fountain at sunrise was magical—the light on the limestone buildings is unforgettable," a traveler shared. Spend the afternoon in Lecce, known as the "Florence of the South." A local guide will help you explore its detailed Baroque architecture. End your day with authentic Puglian pizza in Lecce's historic center.
- Day 4
Alberobello & Ostuni
Get an early start in UNESCO-listed Alberobello. "Arrive before 9 AM to photograph the trulli houses without tour groups—the morning light is perfect for capturing their unique cone shapes," advised one visitor. Visit Ostuni, the "White City," in the afternoon. Remember to wear good walking shoes for the steep limestone streets.
- Day 5
Maglie Food Tour
Focus on Puglia's food traditions today. Visit local producers in Maglie to see pasta and cheese making. "Watching fresh burrata being made was a highlight. The cheese master showed us exactly how to tell when it's perfectly formed," recalled a traveler. Your afternoon includes wine tasting at a historic cellar and a pasta-making class.
- Day 6
Otranto & Coastal Caves
- Day 7
Departure from Brindisi
Spend your final morning at the masseria before leaving. Plan to leave at least 3 hours before your flight from Brindisi Airport. Summer traffic can be heavy in the mornings.
What people love about 7-day Italy tours
- Italian Holiday
Trip was as planned and the accommodations sew good and close to the places of visit.
- Local Living Italy—Sorrento
This trip was based out of a agritourismo in Sorrento and I really enjoyed being immersed in local culture. Our guide was Guiseppie and he was a great guide and was very accommodating and friendly.
- Taste of Salento-Authentic Culinary Experience
This was an exceptional tour with quite a difference! I am a 59 year old female from Australia, and I was travelling alone. I had not seen this region in Italy before and was looking for a tour to join. This was the only tour available during the dates I had available - the only issue was that I was the only one booked on the tour!! After some negotiating - the company agreed to run the tour, tailored for me alone!! I was initially reluctant to do a solo tour, but figured it would be the only way I would be able to get around Puglia on my own. This tour went far beyond all expectations I had - from the very moment I met Clara at the station, until saying goodbye to Clara and her husband Emilio when they dropped me off at the station in Lecce. I was accommodated in the most wonderful Masseria (farmhouse) owned by Clara and Emilio. My apartment was brand new consisting of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen/lounge area and a terrace. It was very comfortable and air conditioned throughout. The Masseria is on 20 hectares of olive trees as well as a variety of fruit trees and an organic vegetable garden. It is very quiet and tranquil. Emilio is the chef - and has a real passion for cooking. The food he prepared was fresh from the garden with an incredible variety of dishes. Twice a day I ate in the restaurant (which is also open to the public) - and each time I ate, I was delighted by the freshness and flavours of the food. Both Clara and Emilio drove me around the entire of Puglia - introducing me to incredible sights from archeological and historical to just about every cave, beach, cove and lake on both sides of Puglia. Nothing at all was a problem for them! The tour was very relaxed - yet I was immersed fully in the experience of seeing and experiencing new sights, activities and food every day! I have been to Italy around 15 times - and this was the BEST experience I have ever had, without doubt!!!! Truly - I cannot recommend this tour enough! I have been back home for 2 days - and I can't wait to get back and do it all over again (which I am planning for next September). A huge thanks to Clara and Emilio (and their two adorable little girls) - you gave so much of yourselves and have touched my heart forever!! Grazie Mille!!!!
