- Day 1
Halifax
Arrive in Halifax and settle into your accommodation in the middle of this vibrant Atlantic city. This evening you'll meet your tour guide and other travelers at a welcome meeting to go over what's coming up over the next couple of weeks.
- Day 2
Peggy's Cove - Lunenburg - Halifax
Start with breakfast in Peggy's Cove fishing village where you'll look out at one of the world's most photographed lighthouses. From there, head along the south shore to Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage town. You'll walk through the well-preserved colonial settlement with a guide and then check out the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic to learn about the area's seafaring past.

Charlottetown
This morning, visit the Millbrook Cultural and Heritage Centre to learn about the Mi'kmaq people and their history. After that, cross the Confederation Bridge, the world's longest continuous multi-span bridge, into Prince Edward Island. You'll settle into Charlottetown for two nights and catch a theatre performance with local talent at the Confederation Centre of the Arts this evening.

- Day 4
Charlottetown
Take it easy this morning in Charlottetown. Sleep in or wander around on your own, and a complimentary walking tour is available if you want it. In the afternoon, head to the north shore of Prince Edward Island to see the red cliffs, white beaches, sand dunes, and green fields within the national park. Stop at Anne of Green Gables Heritage Place, then enjoy a traditional hall-style lobster supper later.

Baddeck
Take the ferry across the Northumberland Strait back to Nova Scotia, then continue to Cape Breton Island via the Canso Causeway. Once you arrive, you'll go on a sightseeing boat tour on Bras d'Or Lake. From there, settle into the charming village of Baddeck where you'll stay for two nights.

Cape Breton Highlands National Park - Baddeck
Drive along the Cabot Trail, one of North America's most famous routes, as it winds around Cape Breton's rocky northern shore and climbs up to the plateaus of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. You'll stop at several scenic lookouts along the way, and later visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site to learn about the man who made his home here.

North Sydney - Port aux Basques
Visit the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, a reconstruction showing about one-fifth of the 1744 New France settlement. Continue to North Sydney and board the Marine Atlantic ferry for an overnight crossing to Port aux Basques, your entry point to Newfoundland Island.

Port au Choix
Get off the ferry in Newfoundland and travel through the Codroy Valley and Gros Morne National Park. Head to the fishing community of Port au Choix where you'll learn about ancient cultures that lived in this area for the last 5,500 years on the Port au Choix Peninsula.

L'Anse au Clair
Board the ferry from St. Barbe across the Strait of Belle Isle to reach Labrador this morning. Visit Red Bay National Historic Site, a UNESCO World Heritage location where the Basques ran a whaling station back in the 16th century. You'll spend the night here in Labrador.

L'Anse aux Meadows - St. Anthony

Cow Head
Start your morning with a whale-watching boat tour off the coast of St. Anthony (weather depending). Keep an eye out for minke whales, humpbacks, and white-sided dolphins while taking in views of the coastline. Later, head to Cow Head in Gros Morne National Park where you'll stay for two nights.

Gros Morne National Park - Cow Head
Explore the UNESCO-listed Gros Morne National Park on a scenic boat tour of Bonne Bay, where bald eagles often show up near the fjord's deep waters. Visit the Tablelands, an unusual flat-topped mountain made of rock that normally comes from deep within the Earth's mantle. Stay another night in Cow Head.

As you leave Gros Morne National Park behind, keep your camera ready while traveling through Central Newfoundland to Gander. Learn how residents here showed remarkable kindness when 38 planes made unexpected landings in 2001 after the September 11 attacks. Visit the North Atlantic Aviation Museum to understand Gander's important role in transatlantic aviation history.

Twillingate - Terra Nova National Park - Clarenville
Drive along the rocky coast of Notre Dame Bay to Twillingate, a charming outport. Walk through the Long Point Lighthouse and the Prime Berth Fishery and Heritage Centre. Keep your eyes open for wildlife as you head through Terra Nova National Park on your way to Clarenville, where you'll stay for two nights.

Bonavista - Trinity - Clarenville
Explore two historic towns today. Head to Bonavista, where John Cabot arrived in 1497, and see the Cape Bonavista Lighthouse Provincial Historic Site to learn about lighthouse keepers' difficult lives. Continue to Trinity, a lovely town where you can walk through quiet lanes and see numerous well-preserved historic buildings from the 18th century. Return to Clarenville for the night.

St. John's
Head to St. John's, recognized as North America's oldest city and the capital of Newfoundland, and you'll stay here for two nights. The city sits beautifully among the granite cliffs of the Avalon Peninsula. On your included city tour, you'll see Victorian architecture downtown, the modern waterfront, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Confederation Building, and get views from Signal Hill.

St. John's
Travel to Bay Bulls for a boat tour through the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve (weather depending) to look for puffins and other seabirds. Visit Cape Spear National Historic Site, the most easterly point in North America. The rest of the afternoon is free so you can explore St. John's at your own pace.
