- Algonquin Log Cabin 3-Day Canoe and Hike Adventure
We had an amazing time at the Algonquin log cabin! The group was fun and got along really well. We enjoyed all the activities (paddling and hikes specially) even though the weather was not at its best. Evan and Emily were incredible guides: apart from being so nice and great entertainers they also have deep knowledge on the place and its ecosystems. Food was always delicious and the cabin itself is really cozy and comfortable. Really recommend it!

The coach tour allowed us to visit many parts of Newfoundland Labrador that we couldn't have done driving ourselves. Our guide kept us entertained for the longer rides on the bus. Most accommodations were excellent a couple of the motel ones were only fair.

My husband and I did the tour of the Martimes in Nova Scotia. It was beautiful country. Our tour guide, Louise, was fantastic. She is so kind and caring; she is an amazing safe driver. She's always there for you. The only thing I didn't like about the trip was the motel in Baddeck. It was so old; musty smelling. Needs a total renovation. Everything about it was pretty awful. No-one on the trip was happy with this hotel. Other than that, we did enjoy the rest of the trip. the other hotels were fine. The Picnic Louise arranged was a lot of fun and the hike was awesome on the Cabot trail.

Getting around's pretty flexible you can drive take guided tours or use public transport depending on where you're headed and what time of year it is.
How Do You Get Around Eastern Canada?
Getting around Eastern Canada's actually pretty straightforward. VIA Rail connects all the major spots like Toronto Montreal Ottawa and Quebec City and the views from the train are fantastic. Renting a car gives you lots of freedom especially if you're hitting the national parks and coastal areas and carpooling can make it more affordable. The big cities have really good public transport with buses subways and streetcars that'll get you pretty much anywhere you need to go. If you're exploring the coastal areas there's plenty of ferries connecting islands to the mainland just make sure you check the schedules especially in the Maritime provinces.
What Local Food Should You Try and Where Can You Find It?
The food scene in Eastern Canada's incredible and there's some dishes you just can't miss. Poutine's probably the most famous it's this amazing combo of fries cheese curds and gravy you'll find it everywhere from fancy restaurants to street vendors. The Atlantic Lobster's absolutely fantastic especially at those seaside spots in Nova Scotia New Brunswick and PEI. Jigg's Dinner's this really traditional Newfoundland meal with salt beef potatoes and vegetables you'll find it in St. John's pubs and restaurants.
