Your trip starts when you land at Vienna International Airport. A Uniworld representative will be waiting to meet you and get you transferred to the ship, assuming you arranged a group or private transfer as part of your booking.

Vienna
You'll have the entire day to explore Vienna's Christmas markets, which feature over 140 wooden stalls selling everything from rum balls to nutmeg-spiced macarons. Wander through the decorated parks at your own pace, and then choose between visiting the Belvedere or taking a walking tour focused on Vienna's Christmas atmosphere.

Dürnstein
The ship takes you through the Wachau Valley to Dürnstein, a small village with cobbled streets and shops selling apricot schnapps. From there, you can explore the castle ruins and taste local mulled wine. Later, there's an organ concert at an Augustine monastery if you want to attend.

The city calls itself the Gingerbread Capital of the World.
