Itinerary
- Day 1
Lisbon to Algarve
Leave Lisbon early and cross the Tagus River bridge heading into southern Portugal. Once you reach Lagos, spend time walking through the walled center with its narrow streets and local character. From there, make your way to Cape St. Vincent, Europe's westernmost point, where you can see where the land meets the Atlantic. Nearby sits Sagres fortress, perched on the cliffs overlooking the coast. By evening, head to Albufeira and settle in along the coast, with plenty of time to walk around the harbor area or grab dinner with a view.

- Day 2
Algarve to Lisbon
Start the day in Faro, taking a slow walk through the capital of the Algarve to get a feel for the region. After that, travel north into the Alentejo region and check out Mértola, a walled town sitting on the Guadiana River with a castle and whitewashed buildings worth seeing. Later, continue to Évora, a UNESCO-listed city full of medieval palaces, Gothic churches, and the Roman temple from ancient times. The Chapel of Bones there is particularly striking. From Évora, drive back to Lisbon, arriving in the evening after a full day of exploring.
