- MMartha· January 13th, 2024Overall the itinerary was satisfactory. We saw a lot of places in a short space of time. We did not get to see anything of Girona. By the time we arrived it was dark and cold. We were advised to walk a few block to the center of town. I started to walk but ultimately gave up. I thought of calling Uber but decided against it. I was disappointed with Arles. Since the brochure sold us on Van Gogh, I expected to at least see something of his work but that was not the case. Quaint town but not artsy as I expected and not much to offer in the way of art or Van Gogh. Perhaps the description of Arles should focus less on Van Gogh and more on the town itself. Not all the promised activities were delivered, perhaps due to Christmas/New Year public holidays. Most guides were very informative, although we did have one for a few days that was only interested in getting you from a to b and nothing else. Hotels & included meals were generally less than average with a couple of exceptions, but all the rooms we stayed in were clean.
