- Day 1
Tunis
You'll land at Tunis-Carthage airport and get transferred to your hotel in Sidi Bou Said, a coastal town famous for its blue-domed buildings. Depending when you arrive, the rest of your afternoon is yours to walk around town and get a feel for the place at whatever pace works for you.

Tunis - Sidi Bou Said
Begin with Carthage, a UNESCO site with Roman ruins like the Baths of Antoninius Pius and old Punic harbors. From there, head to Tunis and check out the medina with its souks and Art Nouveau buildings. The Bardo Museum is available if you're interested, then you'll return to Sidi Bou Said for the evening.

Zaghouan - Kairouan
After breakfast, you'll drive north through vineyards and wheat fields to reach Dougga, a UNESCO site with well-preserved Roman ruins including a mausoleum, theater and capitol building. Next stop is Thuburbo Majus to see more ancient Roman structures, then Zaghouan for its ancient water temple. You'll finish the day in Kairouan, the fourth holy city of Islam.

Sbeitla - Tozeur
Start by walking through Kairouan's UNESCO medina, checking out the Great Mosque, Aghlabid pools, and the ornate Mausoleum of Sidi Saheb. Drive to Sbeitla next to see the remarkable Roman ruins of Sufetula with its unusual triple-temple capitol built for Jupiter, Minerva and Juno. Later you'll continue on to Tozeur, an oasis town surrounded by palm groves in the desert.

Tozeur
Take a 4x4 excursion through desert landscapes near Tozeur to see mountain oases. You'll visit Chebika, Tamerza and Mides oases, exploring gorges, waterfalls and palm gardens. There's an optional stop at the Star Wars filming location Mos Espa in Ong Jmel if that interests you. Back in Tozeur by evening to explore the souk and wander the old town.

Douz - Sahara Desert Camp
Drive to Douz passing through the Chott El Jerid salt flats, then a 4x4 takes you three hours off-road through desert landscapes to Camp Abdelmoula in Tembaine. Walk through the dunes to catch the sunset, then have dinner around the campfire under the stars. You'll sleep in luxury tents that have beds and private bathrooms.

Landmarks/POIs Douz Chott El Jerid Tembaine - Day 7
Douz - Matmata - Mahdia/El Jem
Get up early to watch the sunrise over the sand dunes. After breakfast, the 4x4 drives you back to Douz taking about three hours. From there you'll head to Matmata to see the unique troglodyte cave dwellings carved into soft rock. There's an optional stop at the Star Wars Hotel if you want. Then head back north toward the coast, arriving in El Jem or Mahdia by evening.

El Jem - Monastir - Sousse
Take a relaxed morning, with an optional walk through Mahdia's medina on a narrow peninsula with colorful doors and sea views. Drive to El Jem to see the African Colosseum, one of Tunisia's most striking ancient buildings. Continue to Monastir for the Bourguiba mausoleum and climb the Ribat watchtower for views across the area. Finish in Sousse, a UNESCO coastal city with a well-preserved medieval medina and monuments.

Hammamet - Nabeul - Gammarth
Head to Hammamet, a coastal town with a medina surrounded by sandy beaches. Walk through narrow alleyways with blue-painted houses and check out the 16th century Spanish-Turkish fortress. Grab coffee at the famous Sidi Bouhadid cafe, then continue to Nabeul to browse the souk and visit a craft village. You'll do a harissa workshop to learn how this traditional spicy paste is made. End in Gammarth for your last night.
