Itinerary
- Day 1
Bristol to Falmouth
Start early from Bristol and drive southwest through rural villages and Exmoor National Park. You'll stop at Dunster to see the medieval Norman castle sitting prominently in the village center. From there, continue to Tintagel Castle on North Cornwall's cliffs where local legend connects the ruins to King Arthur's birthplace. The coastal views here are quite dramatic with the cliffs dropping sharply to the water below. By evening you'll reach Falmouth for the night.

Falmouth
Head out to the coastal fishing town of St Ives, which has a very different feel from the inland areas you explored yesterday. Make your way to Land's End for photos at one of the country's most southerly points. If it's available, you can visit the Minack Theatre built right into a clifftop, which is quite a unique venue. Stop at Marazion to see St Michael's Mount rising from the water with its medieval church and castle perched on top, similar to Mont Saint-Michel in France. Head back to Falmouth in the evening.

Falmouth to Exeter
Early on, choose between visiting a local waterfall or stone circle depending on what your group prefers. Travel to Tavistock, a historic tin-mining town, where you have time to walk around and grab lunch. This is actually where cream tea originated, so it's worth trying it while you're here. Later, you'll drive into Dartmoor National Park to see the wild moorland with its rocky outcrops and ancient forests. Stop at Widecombe-in-the-Moor, the village from the folk song, and check out the granite landscape around Haytor. Finish up in Exeter for the night.

Exeter to Bristol
Begin by visiting Durdle Door, an impressive natural rock formation on the Dorset coast that you can see from the parking area or walk closer to if you want. Stop at Lulworth Cove nearby, another coastal spot with good views. The tour ends at Stonehenge, the ancient Neolithic stone circle from around 5,000 years ago. Nobody knows exactly why it was built, which adds to its appeal. From there, you'll drive back to Bristol where the tour finishes up.
