Itinerary
- Day 1
Palermo
You'll arrive at Palermo Airport and pick up your rental car before checking into your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore the city at your own pace. Head to the Norman Palace to see the Byzantine mosaics, then walk through the Cathedral and the surrounding piazzas. Stop by the local markets to try some street food, check out the opera house, and if you have time, spend a quiet hour in the botanical garden.

Palermo to Cefalu
After breakfast, you'll drive to Cefalu, a coastal town with narrow medieval streets worth wandering through. The Norman Cathedral there has impressive mosaics you won't want to miss. Grab a Sicilian lunch somewhere near the water, then spend the afternoon on the golden sand beach relaxing. Later you'll head back to Palermo for the night.

Palermo to Trapani
Drive to Trapani and get settled at your hotel. Spend the day exploring the historic center starting with Piazza Vittorio Emanuele and walking along Corso Vittorio Emanuele. Stop in some of the baroque churches, then climb up to the coastal watchtower for views across the sea. After that, visit the salt pans to learn how they extract salt using traditional methods. End the day with dinner by the harbor and an evening walk along the waterfront.

Segesta - Erice
Head out to Segesta Archaeological Park to see the well-preserved Doric Temple from the 5th century and the Greek Theatre from the 3rd century. From there, travel to Erice, the medieval hilltop town, either by car or on the scenic funicular. Walk the cobblestone streets and visit the Norman Castle, which sits on the site of an old Venus temple. Check out the Mother Church, then stay for sunset to enjoy the views before driving back to Trapani.

Trapani to Marsala
Drive to Marsala and explore the main square with its architecture and fountain. The baroque Cathedral is worth a visit. Book a tour at one of the famous wineries for wine and food tasting. Later, head to the Stagnone Nature Reserve to see the salt pans, then take a boat out to Mozia, an ancient Phoenician settlement with archaeological finds on display. Stick around for the sunset views over the salt mounds and water.
