  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu to Pokhara

After breakfast at your hotel, the drive to Pokhara takes you 200 km west through varied terrain. You'll arrive in Nepal's second-largest city, which serves as the primary hub for accessing the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri trekking areas. Once you check into your hotel, the afternoon is yours to spend boating on Phewa Lake.

  3. Day 3

    Pokhara to Australian Camp Trek

Following breakfast, you'll drive about 40 minutes to Kande on the Pokhara-Baglung highway to start your trek. A 1.5-hour climb takes you to the ridge at 2,060 m and Australian Camp, a forest clearing where you can see the Annapurna range and Pokhara valley spread out below. From there the path winds through rhododendron forest and up to Deurali mountain pass, which looks down into the Modi Khola valley between Annapurna South and Mardi Himal.

  4. Day 4

    Deurali to Forest Camp

Starting from the ridge village of Deurali, you'll leave the main Annapurna trail and follow the forested ridge toward Forest Camp. This newer route doesn't have teahouses, so you're carrying a pack lunch and water with you. The walk stays fairly gradual while taking you through beautiful rhododendron forest.

    Included Activities

    • Guided trek from Deurali to Forest Camp
    Landmarks/POIs
    Forest Camp
  5. Day 5

    Forest Camp to Low Camp

The trail climbs gradually through rhododendron forest to Low Camp, where you'll find a couple of teahouses in a forest clearing. Mount Fishtail and Mardi Himal keep getting closer and more detailed as you go higher. You're moving into clearer air with increasingly impressive views of Himalayan foothills layered against sweeping southern valleys.

    Included Activities

    • Guided trek from Forest Camp to Low Camp

    Optional Activities

    • Trek 1 additional hour to Badal Danda (Cloud Hill) above the tree line for better views (only 1 lodge available)

  6. Day 6

    Low Camp to High Camp

The ridge path continues upward toward Mardi Himal and Mount Fishtail. At Badal Danda you'll step out of the tree line into shrubby alpine terrain. Annapurna South, Huinchuli, and Fishtail rise above deep valleys on both sides. High Camp sits on a small pasture with 3 lodges, positioning you above the clouds and much closer to the snowcapped peaks.

    Landmarks/POIs
    High Camp
    Annapurna South
    Huinchuli
  7. Day 7

High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp

This is the toughest day with steep climbs covering more distance. Rocky steps become uneven and vertiginous in places. Two hours of steep climbing gets you to the MBC ridge marker, then another 2 hours along the ridge to the actual base camp. Mardi Himal and Mount Fishtail fill your view directly above, while Annapurna I, Gangapurna, and Annapurna III stretch across the distant horizon.

  8. Day 8

The landscape stays the same but seasonal shifts and changing light create something different each hour. You'll spend the morning noticing how sunlight transforms the peaks and valleys around you, then head down to Forest Camp after breakfast.

    Landmarks/POIs
    Forest Camp
  9. Day 9

    Asked on January 26th, 2024

Would like to know if I need to apply for the tourist visa for this trip. I am a British National (Overseas) passport holder, would like to know if need to apply for a visa upon this trip. And I want to know how much does it cost for tipping the tour guide and the porter in general for this trip?

    Visa
    • World Travel ExperiencesOperatorWritten January 2024

Yes, you need to apply for tourist visa. Which you can do upon arrival at Kathmandu and apply for upon arrival visa. You need to carry original passport with minimum 6 month validity and visa fee (US$ 40). Regarding tipping you may estimate US$ 5 per person per day however there is no such hard and fast rule. It depends on your satisfaction with their services.

Would like to know will there be any airport pick-up by the time I arrived at Kathmandu airport? And about what time do I need to arrive? And will there be any transfer service to the airport on Day 11 (Final departure day)? Does the pick-up and transfer service included in the package price?

    • World Travel ExperiencesOperatorWritten January 2024

Both the transfers are included in the tour cost. You provide us your Flight details we will arrange pickup as per your flight time.

      TravelerWritten February 2024

In terms of the tipping, may I know how many persons do I need to tip for? Generally speaking for this tour would be the tour guide, driver and porter. Apart from the travel visa which I have to apply upon arrival, may I know if there are any other permits that need to be applied for the trekking? If yes, would your organization be arranging on my behalf? In terms of the luggage and packing, may I know if your company will provide a duffel bag for me to pack my gear and belongings for the trekking (which this will be carried by the porter)? And would that be possible if I could leave my main luggage at the hotel at Kathmandu on Day 1 and retrieve it back when returning back to the hotel after the trekking?

    • World Travel ExperiencesOperatorWritten February 2024

Tipping depends totally on you (how much and to whom) depending upon your satisfaction from their service. However tipping is expected. If you want to tip they would be driver, trek guide mainly. We need to apply for trekking permits which we will take care of. Yes we provide duffel bag, porter is not included in this trek, if you want we can arrange at extra cost. Yes you can leave extra luggage at Kathmandu or Pokhara and retrieve back upon return.
