Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu
You'll land in Kathmandu and connect with your tour assistant who'll handle your hotel transfer. Later that day, you'll head to Pashupatinath Temple, one of Hinduism's most sacred sites honoring Shiva, and then Boudhanath Stupa, Nepal's largest stupa and the holiest Tibetan Buddhist site outside Tibet itself.

Kathmandu to Pokhara
After breakfast at your hotel, the drive to Pokhara takes you 200 km west through varied terrain. You'll arrive in Nepal's second-largest city, which serves as the primary hub for accessing the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri trekking areas. Once you check into your hotel, the afternoon is yours to spend boating on Phewa Lake.

Pokhara to Australian Camp Trek
Following breakfast, you'll drive about 40 minutes to Kande on the Pokhara-Baglung highway to start your trek. A 1.5-hour climb takes you to the ridge at 2,060 m and Australian Camp, a forest clearing where you can see the Annapurna range and Pokhara valley spread out below. From there the path winds through rhododendron forest and up to Deurali mountain pass, which looks down into the Modi Khola valley between Annapurna South and Mardi Himal.

Deurali to Forest Camp
Starting from the ridge village of Deurali, you'll leave the main Annapurna trail and follow the forested ridge toward Forest Camp. This newer route doesn't have teahouses, so you're carrying a pack lunch and water with you. The walk stays fairly gradual while taking you through beautiful rhododendron forest.

Landmarks/POIs Forest Camp - Day 5
Forest Camp to Low Camp
The trail climbs gradually through rhododendron forest to Low Camp, where you'll find a couple of teahouses in a forest clearing. Mount Fishtail and Mardi Himal keep getting closer and more detailed as you go higher. You're moving into clearer air with increasingly impressive views of Himalayan foothills layered against sweeping southern valleys.

Landmarks/POIs Low Camp Badal Danda Mount Fishtail Mardi Himal - Day 6
Low Camp to High Camp
The ridge path continues upward toward Mardi Himal and Mount Fishtail. At Badal Danda you'll step out of the tree line into shrubby alpine terrain. Annapurna South, Huinchuli, and Fishtail rise above deep valleys on both sides. High Camp sits on a small pasture with 3 lodges, positioning you above the clouds and much closer to the snowcapped peaks.

High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp
This is the toughest day with steep climbs covering more distance. Rocky steps become uneven and vertiginous in places. Two hours of steep climbing gets you to the MBC ridge marker, then another 2 hours along the ridge to the actual base camp. Mardi Himal and Mount Fishtail fill your view directly above, while Annapurna I, Gangapurna, and Annapurna III stretch across the distant horizon.

Mardi Himal Base Camp
The landscape stays the same but seasonal shifts and changing light create something different each hour. You'll spend the morning noticing how sunlight transforms the peaks and valleys around you, then head down to Forest Camp after breakfast.

Landmarks/POIs Forest Camp - Day 9
Forest Camp to Lwang to Pokhara
A steep descent through rhododendron and maple forest brings you down to Lwang, a self-sufficient Gurung village where you can experience authentic Nepalese rural life. The village grows organic tea across 50 hectares and offers homestay stays plus a waterfall nearby with canyoning options. Later you'll drive back to Pokhara.

Pokhara to Kathmandu
After breakfast at your hotel, the drive back to Kathmandu takes you through the landscapes you've trekked through. Upon arrival you'll check into your hotel and have the rest of the day free to rest and recover.

Departure from Kathmandu
You'll have a relaxed morning with breakfast at the hotel and free time to do as you like. Later in the day, your transfer will take you to the airport for your flight out.
