Itinerary
- Day 1
Cancun
You'll arrive at Cancun airport where your guide is waiting to greet you. From there, it's a transfer to your hotel in Cancun for your first night to settle in.
- Day 2
Cancun to Chetumal
This morning you head to Tulum, a Mayan city right on the coast where you can see both beaches and ancient ruins. The drive continues along Bacalar lagoon to Chetumal, covering roughly 400 km total.

Chetumal to Flores
After crossing into Belize, you'll head to Lamanai ruins. In Orange Walk village you swap the bus for boats and travel through tropical rainforest to reach the ruins. By evening you cross into Guatemala and arrive in Flores, a small island town on Lago de Peten Itza.

- Day 4
Flores
You spend the day at Tikal, the most important Mayan city buried deep in rainforest. The site covers 16 square kilometers with around 3,000 buildings, though many are still covered by jungle. You return to Flores in the afternoon.

Flores to Copan
Early on you take a quick tour of Flores, then drive to Quirigua to see massive monoliths rising from the rainforest. Later you cross into Honduras and reach Copan, which is known as a major coffee export center.

Copan to Antigua
You'll spend significant time at Copan ruins, a UNESCO site and one of the most important Classic Mayan locations. You can see the ceremonial square, hieroglyphic staircase, temple of inscriptions, and the sculpture of the Old Man of Copan. After that you head back into Guatemala toward Antigua.

Landmarks Copan - Day 7
Antigua to Lake Atitlan
Today takes you through Antigua, the former capital surrounded by coffee plantations and volcanoes. You visit Parque Central and the cathedral, then check out La Merced church and Las Capuchinas monastery. The drive through highlands finishes at Lake Atitlan.

Lake Atitlan to San Cristobal de las Casas
You leave Lake Atitlan, which sits at the foot of three volcanoes, and visit Sokola to explore a local market. Then you cross into Mexico and drive to San Cristobal de las Casas, a colonial town at over 2,100 meters altitude.

San Cristobal de las Casas
A boat trip takes you through Sumidero Canyon, where rock walls tower over 1,000 meters high in some places, making it one of the world's deepest river gorges. After that, you visit Chamula, a Mayan village that serves as a religious center for indigenous people.

San Cristobal de las Casas to Palenque
You spend time exploring San Cristobal de las Casas on foot, walking through small alleyways and seeing the colonial architecture and indigenous culture. Grab some good coffee from Chiapas while you're there. Later you drive along winding roads to Palenque.

- Day 11
Palenque
This is a day trip to Yaxchilan and Bonampak ruins. You head early to the Usumacinta River and continue by boat to Yaxchilan. After exploring that site, you travel by bus to Bonampak to see the impressive murals in the Temple of the Painted Walls.

Palenque to Campeche
You explore Palenque, the sunken city hidden in jungle, checking out the Great Palace and tower, the Temple of the Cross, and the unique architecture that stayed hidden for about 800 years. Later you drive to Campeche, known as the city of pirates, and walk through the restored historic old town.

Campeche to Merida
You'll visit Uxmal on the Puuc route, seeing the Pyramid of the Magician, Nuns' Quadrangle, and Governor's Palace with its distinctive facade. From there you head to Merida, the colonial capital of Yucatan, where you can walk through the White City with its boulevard, cathedral, and traditional market.

Merida to Cancun
The drive takes you to Chichen Itza, the political and religious center of the Mayan empire in the 11th and 12th centuries. You see the Pyramid of Kukulkan, Temple of the Warriors with its thousand columns, and the Observatory. There's time for a swim in a nearby cenote. After that you continue to Cancun for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
