  1. Day 1

    Cancun

    You'll arrive at Cancun airport where your guide is waiting to greet you. From there, it's a transfer to your hotel in Cancun for your first night to settle in.

  2. Day 2

    Cancun to Chetumal

    This morning you head to Tulum, a Mayan city right on the coast where you can see both beaches and ancient ruins. The drive continues along Bacalar lagoon to Chetumal, covering roughly 400 km total.

  3. Day 3

    Chetumal to Flores

    After crossing into Belize, you'll head to Lamanai ruins. In Orange Walk village you swap the bus for boats and travel through tropical rainforest to reach the ruins. By evening you cross into Guatemala and arrive in Flores, a small island town on Lago de Peten Itza.

    Flores

    You spend the day at Tikal, the most important Mayan city buried deep in rainforest. The site covers 16 square kilometers with around 3,000 buildings, though many are still covered by jungle. You return to Flores in the afternoon.

    Flores to Copan

    Copan to Antigua

    You'll spend significant time at Copan ruins, a UNESCO site and one of the most important Classic Mayan locations. You can see the ceremonial square, hieroglyphic staircase, temple of inscriptions, and the sculpture of the Old Man of Copan. After that you head back into Guatemala toward Antigua.

    This is a day trip to Yaxchilan and Bonampak ruins. You head early to the Usumacinta River and continue by boat to Yaxchilan. After exploring that site, you travel by bus to Bonampak to see the impressive murals in the Temple of the Painted Walls.

    Very extensive and interesting program. Catering very good with numerous, very friendly staff. Cabins large enough for the duration of the cruise. Very reasonably priced laundry service.
