Itinerary

Arrival in Amman
You'll land at Queen Alia International Airport in the evening. A representative meets you there to handle visa paperwork (the Jordanian Visa Waiver is free for most travelers) and drives you to your hotel in Amman. It's a straightforward arrival, so you can settle in and rest after your flight.

Jerash - Ajloun
After breakfast, head into Amman's downtown to see the Citadel with its Roman and early Islamic structures, then stop by the Archaeological Museum where you'll find the Dead Sea Scrolls. The busy Souq is worth a walk through, and the 2nd-century Roman Theatre is hard to miss. Later that morning, drive about 50 km north to Jerash to walk around this well-preserved Roman city and see Hadrian's Arch, the Hippodrome, and the Temple of Artemis. From there, continue through pine forests and olive groves to Ajloun to visit the 12th-century Al-Rabid Castle before heading back to Amman.

Madaba - Mount Nebo - Karak - Petra
Your driver picks you up at 8:00 AM for the drive to Madaba. Check out the famous 6th-century Mosaic Map of Jerusalem in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, which is made from around two million pieces of colored local stone. Then head to Mount Nebo, the place where Moses reportedly viewed the Promised Land. The drive along the Kings Highway includes a stop at Wadi Mujib Viewpoint, and you'll visit Karak Castle, an impressive Crusader fortress built in 1132/34. After that, it's a 2.5-hour drive to Petra where you'll check into your hotel for the night.

Wadi Rum
Meet your guide at the Visitor's Centre after breakfast for a 3-hour tour of Petra, the ancient Nabatean capital. You'll walk through the narrow Siq gorge with its colorful sandstone cliffs, see the Treasury and Street of Facades, explore the Royal Tombs and Theatre, and check out Qasr Al Bint. There's free time afterward if you want to wander around on your own before walking back to the entrance. Then it's a 1.5-hour transfer to Wadi Rum where you'll experience Bedouin hospitality, watch the sunset, and spend the night at a Bedouin camp surrounded by dramatic desert mountains.

Dead Sea
Start with breakfast and watch the sunrise from camp. You'll join a 4 to 5-hour jeep tour with an English-speaking Bedouin guide, following Lawrence of Arabia's route. The tour covers the Nabatean Temple, Lawrence Spring, sand dunes, Khazali Canyon, Um Frouth Rock Bridge, and Burdah Rock Bridge, so there's plenty to see. Camel riding is an option on the way back if you're interested. After that, transfer for 3.5 hours to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth, and settle into your hotel there.

Departure from Dead Sea
You have free time at the Dead Sea hotel to relax and use the facilities until check-out. After that, you'll be driven to Amman Airport for your departure flight.
