  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu to Bandipur

    Head out from Kathmandu along the Prithvi Highway toward Bandipur, a hilltown perched high above the surrounding terrain. The drive takes you through rolling hills with nice views throughout, and there's an optional lunch stop at Hills n Horizon if you want to break things up. Once you arrive in Bandipur, you'll find well-preserved old architecture lining the main streets, and the views toward the Himalayas from here are quite good. This is where you'll spend your first night.

  2. Day 2

    Bandipur to Himalayan Deurali

    After breakfast, a jeep picks you up to head toward the mountain viewpoints. You'll stop at either Sarangkot or Naudanda for panoramic views of Annapurna and Manaslu across the landscape. From there, continue deeper into the mountains toward Himalayan Deurali, a quiet spot perched on the mountainside. The drive gives you different perspectives of the terrain throughout the day, and you'll settle in at Deurali for the night.

  3. Day 3

    Himalayan Deurali to Jomsom

    Today involves a jeep drive through Kali Gandaki Gorge, one of the world's deepest gorges with massive cliffs rising up on both sides and the powerful river below carving through rock. The ride gets you into Jomsom by afternoon, a busy high-altitude town where you can wander through local markets, try regional food, and get a feel for mountain life here. There's time to explore before settling in for the evening.

    Jomsom to Chaile

    Leave Jomsom in a jeep and head toward Chaile, traveling through dry, barren landscape and crossing high passes. Along the way, look for views of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri peaks appearing across the terrain. Chaile itself is a small village tucked into dramatic mountain scenery, and this is where you'll stay the night after a long day of driving.

  5. Day 5

    Chaile to Lo Manthang

    The jeep takes you deeper into Upper Mustang through barren high-altitude terrain with unique architecture everywhere you look, flat-roofed mud brick houses and hilltop gompas dotting the landscape. Arrive at Lo Manthang, the walled capital city, where you can see the ancient Royal Palace, walk through gompas, catch traditional Tibetan prayer ceremonies happening, and chat with people living there about their lives.

  6. Day 6

    Lo Manthang

    Spend the full day in Lo Manthang. Early on, hike up to an observation point that gives 360-degree views across the Mustang region, seeing for miles in every direction. Later, head to the Mustang Museum to look through artifacts that tell the story of this place. Walk around town and watch locals doing traditional carpet weaving, interact with them if you get the chance. By evening, you'll sit down for a farewell dinner with local dishes like Tingmo steamed bread and Yak stew.

    Travel back toward lower altitude, heading to Muktinath at 3,800 meters, a pilgrimage site that matters to both Hindu and Buddhist communities. The Muktinath Temple there is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, and you'll experience the Jwala Mai eternal flame and the 108 holy water spouts that make this place feel spiritual and unique.

    Muktinath to Tatopani

    The jeep takes you down through Kali Gandaki Gorge again, but this time heading lower where the landscape shifts from arid mountains to greener valleys with real trees and vegetation appearing. Stop at Tatopani, a village known for natural hot springs, where you can soak your muscles after so many days of traveling through mountains before continuing on.

Hit up cultural sites like Durbar Square or Boudhanath Stupa, check out museums about Nepal's history, grab a traditional massage to relax, or just wander through the city's lively neighborhoods. Evening brings a farewell dinner with your group and tour guide to celebrate the whole Upper Mustang trip.

The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
