- paul· October 6th, 2022I'm so happy I chose this tour. The tour was well organized, our guides, Gregory and Rudolf, were fantastic, always cheerful, informative and eager to help. I would definitely tour with this company again!Show moreChameleon Safaris Namibia commented on this reviewDear Paul, thank you so much for your amazing feedback. This is what makes what we do so fulfilling. We appreciate the fact that you will recommend other travellers to go on this Safari with us. Enjoy and we wish you more days of good travel.Trip date: August 2022
- JJohnFerrara· July 24th, 2022Our guides, Gideon and Gregory, were incredible. They worked hard, yet were always cheerful. They had encyclopedic knowledge of the animals, plants, geology and people that we saw. They taught us new camping skills and brought us to every site when the light was just perfect. At every turn, they made our trip more enjoyable. The tour itself was incredible. How many times do you wake up to the sound of a lion roaring? Well, we did. Those of us who live in populated areas may forget a night sky. You will see it, and wonder, on this trip. The sky's pallets at sunrise and sunset will amaze anyone who can see colors. Sand dunes in morning light call out for one to climb, and amaze everyone who heeds the call. Animals, not confined in a zoo, live as they ought, and allow us a glimpse of their world. These viewings were not occasional, they are every day and multiple times per day. For many, this will be a once in a lifetime vacation. But it will be a highlight of a lifetime. I could not recommend more highly the 12 Day Classic Namibia Camping Safari with Chameleon Tours and Safaris. I hope you try it. Everyone should have a chance to experience the wonders this tour reveals.Show moreTrip date: July 2022

Asked on January 11th, 2025Can you confirm that this tour will definitely leave?
- Chameleon Safaris NamibiaOperator•Written January 2025
This tour will take place, we already have other travellers booked on this date.
- K
Kathy
Traveler•Written January 2025Can I book the tour now and add the insurance afterwards? Or can it only be done at time of purchase of the tour?
- Chameleon Safaris NamibiaOperator•Written January 2025
We at Chameleon Safaris do not provide travel insurance; we highly recommend purchasing travel insurance from your preferred supplier. The insurance is due to unforeseen events such as a missed or cancelled flight. Sickness just before the travel date and possible loss of luggage. This can be purchased after you book the tour and provided to us later.

Traveler•Written November 2023I started looking at flights, and the flight I am thinking of booking arrives in Windhoek on 18-May at 12:45 pm, day 1 of the tour. Will the arrival time be a problem with the itinerary?
- Chameleon Safaris NamibiaOperator•Written November 2023
The arrival time might pose a minor issue, but it's manageable. Alternatively, we can arrange a shuttle to transport you directly to Mount Etjo Safaris Lodge/Campsite. The shuttle service will cost N$4000, payable directly to the shuttle company in cash.

Asked on August 16th, 2022do you go thru Damaraland and look for the desert elephants? And do you go to Walvus Bay?
- Chameleon Safaris NamibiaOperator•Written August 2022
Unfortunately, we just drive through the Damaraland with hopes to spot more and enjoy the landscapes, as well as to see the local people who leave in this area. With this tour we do not visit Walvisbay, but you can do a day tour when you are in Swakopmund. But this will be at your own expense.

Traveler•Written August 2022When camping, do we sleep on the ground or on cots, and is there any other camping gear you recommend I should bring? Water purification, bug repellent, pillow/clothing, etc, etc ? Also, is there a way to charge our camera batteries while camping?
- Chameleon Safaris NamibiaOperator•Written August 2022
You just bring along the insect repellent and items of personal nature. I suggest you bring a torch along. We provide the basic equipment's like tents, mattress, small camping pillows and all other related things like cutlery and plates. You can charge your camera battery at the reception area or in the vehicle.
