- SFSusan· August 1st, 2017Fantastic trip! Everything was as described, and organised perfectly by Manache our leader, and Steve our driver. We camped in amazing places, some next to National Parks or on beaches, some with swimming pools. On Zanzibar accommodation was perfect right on the beach. We saw all the animals you could hope for, including the gorillas and chimpanzees, Of course there were long dusty drives but you are in Africa. There was always plenty of food for us to cook and we enjoyed the meals cooked by the teams with Nash's guidance. I wish I had booked the 73 day Absolute Safari! I will be back to do the second half!Show moreAbsolute Africa commented on this reviewThanks Susan for your review! Had a total ball travelling through Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania for 5.5 weeks. It was an awesome mix of culture, safari and then relaxing on the beach. What our customers ask about this tour

Asked on April 20th, 2024I'm interested in this tour. But as I am 65 I would like to inquire about single room/tent with ensuite bathroom options
- Absolute AfricaOperator•Written April 2024
We are usually able to provide a single tent on request and at no extra cost. There are no en-suite bathroom option as the majority of the tour is camping and so there are shared bathroom facilities for all the group to use at each campsite. On the Wildlife and Spice Island tour there is a 4 night optional excursion to Zanzibar Island during the last four days of the tour itinerary. If you wish to have a single room here with bathroom then you can pay the upgrade fee for this. The standard price is £265 and the upgrade is £150 so this would be a total of £415 GBP and includes 4 nights B&B single room accommodation, transfers with the group on the island, the fast ferry from Dar to Zanzibar, and a spice tour.

Traveler•Written August 2023Is there any possibility of reservations? Also may I ask if based on your experience, there is a chance that the tour get booked out by the end of September? What equipment should we bring along for camping?
- Absolute AfricaOperator•Written August 2023
The truck is only half full at this stage and so there are still over 10 seats available on the October tour. You will need to bring a sleeping bag, medical kit, cutlery, a bowl/plate and cup/mug. We provide tents and sleeping mats.

Asked on February 19th, 2016When is the best time to view the migration?
- Absolute AfricaOperator•Written February 2016
The prime time to visit the Serengeti in Tanzania is usually regarded as being from late November through to March when the big herds of wildebeest, Thomson’s gazelle and zebra head on to the southern plains of the Serengeti.
To get the best viewing on the other hand in Kenya's Masai Mara July through to September are usually regarded as the best months.

Asked on February 15th, 2016What is the local payment?
- Absolute AfricaOperator•Written February 2016
The local payment is a separate payment from the initial price you pay before you leave. If a local payment is required it will be shown with the trip price. This second payment is made in Africa at the start of your trip. It is payable in USD. The local payment provides us with the means for expenses that need to be paid in cash to local businesses en route to be arranged in the most cost effective manner possible, a saving we can then pass on to you. It also means we can operate in a way that directly supports local businesses and wildlife authorities as we travel. Local Payment will not be changed once you have booked your travel arrangements.

Asked on February 15th, 2016How much will this tour really cost?
- Absolute AfricaOperator•Written February 2016
The costs to consider when travelling overland are:
Safari price & Local payment,
Optional excursions,
Personal spending money,
Visas.
We are always very transparent about what a tour will cost and are happy to go through personal, tailored budgets to give you a very realistic idea of what you will spend on your tour - whether you are an adrenaline junkie, souvenir-shopaholic or travelling on a shoestring…

Asked on January 1st, 2016I am currently comparing the tours "Wildlife & Spice Island" and "Gorillas to Zanzibar". Can you please help me find out the differences?
- Absolute AfricaOperator•Written January 2016
The biggest difference between the two trips is that the Wildlife and Spice safari travels from Rwanda into Tanzania and visit lake Victoria and the Grumeti reserve which the gorillas to Zanzibar does not do. Also in this trip the Serengeti and Ngorongoro trip is included while on the gorillas to zanzibar trip this is an optional extra.
