Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Cologne

You'll arrive in Cologne and have the morning and early afternoon to explore this historic cathedral city on your own. With nearly 2,000 years of history packed into the streets, there's quite a bit to see in terms of monuments and attractions. Your Rhine cruise departs at 18:00, so aim to get to the port a bit early. This gives you time to grab lunch somewhere central, walk around the old town, and maybe duck into a church or museum before heading to the ship.

    Optional Activities

    • Explore Cologne's cathedral and monuments
    • Visit museums and cultural attractions
    • Wander through the historic city center
    Landmarks
    Cologne Cathedral
  2. Day 2

    Amsterdam

You're arriving in Amsterdam at 13:00, which means you'll have the afternoon and evening to get oriented. The city blends old architecture with modern energy really well, and with nearly 7,500 listed buildings, historical sites are genuinely everywhere. If you want to cover more ground, grab one of the complimentary e-bikes. Otherwise, just walking around the canal neighborhoods works just fine. By evening, you can grab dinner at one of the many restaurants lining the canals.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Lunch (Comprehensive lunch buffet with live-cooking stations), Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations), Snack (Embarkation snack and daily tea and coffee time)

    Included Activities

    • Free e-bikes for independent exploration (subject to availability)
    • Destination Scout insider tips for individual exploration ashore

    Optional Activities

    • Canal boat tours
    • Museum visits
    • Historic neighborhood walks
    Landmarks
    Amsterdam Canal District
  3. Day 3

    Amsterdam

You've got a full day in Amsterdam to continue exploring what you didn't see yesterday. The museums are worth a few hours if that interests you, or you can keep wandering the neighborhoods and along the waterfront. With nearly 7,500 listed buildings in the city, you could spend weeks here and still find new corners. Your cruise departs at 23:00, so you can spend the day at your own pace and head back to the ship in the evening.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Lunch (Comprehensive lunch buffet with live-cooking stations), Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations), Snack (Daily tea and coffee time)

    Included Activities

    • Free e-bikes for independent exploration (subject to availability)
    • Destination Scout insider tips for individual exploration ashore

    Optional Activities

    • Anne Frank House visit
    • Van Gogh Museum
    • Cycling tours
    • Canal-side dining
    Landmarks
    Amsterdam Canal District
  4. Day 4

    Antwerp

You'll arrive in Antwerp at 5:00 PM, landing in the heart of the 'Diamond City.' This evening gives you time to wander around the vibrant port and get a feel for the place. Antwerp's known for its art scene, cultural offerings, and Belgian treats like waffles, chocolates, and those crispy chips. Since you're getting in during early evening, grabbing dinner at a local spot and walking along the waterfront makes sense before settling in for the night.

    Meals
Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations), Snack (Embarkation snack), Beverage (High-quality drinks included throughout the day (tea, coffee and coffee specialities, water, soft drinks, beer, prosecco, wines during bar opening hours))

    Included Activities

    • Explore Antwerp independently with free e-bike (subject to availability)

    Optional Activities

    • Diamond trade exploration
    • Art and museum visits
    • Food tours for Belgian specialties
    Landmarks
    Antwerp
  5. Day 5

    Dordrecht

Your boat pulls into Dordrecht at 9:00 AM, and you've got the full day here before departing at 9:00 PM. This is Holland's oldest city, situated where three rivers converge, which gives it that distinctive 'city on the water' character. You'll find plenty of monuments scattered throughout, and the small harbors scattered around town give you lots to explore. The day allows for a leisurely pace, whether you're checking out historical sites or just wandering the waterside streets before heading out tonight.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Lunch (Comprehensive lunch buffet with live-cooking stations), Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations), Beverage (High-quality drinks included throughout the day (tea, coffee and coffee specialities, water, soft drinks, beer, prosecco, wines during bar opening hours). Daily tea and coffee time.)

    • Monument visits
    • Harbor and waterfront exploration
    • City guided tours
    Landmarks
    Dordrecht
  6. Day 6

    Antwerp

You're staying the full day in Antwerp with departure at 9:00 PM, so this is your chance to really dig into what the 'Diamond City' offers. The art galleries here are solid, and there's plenty of cultural sites worth your time. The Belgian food scene is excellent too, so plan on having a proper lunch and exploring different neighborhoods. With the whole day ahead, you can move through the city without rushing, then head back to the boat in the evening.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Lunch (Comprehensive lunch buffet with live-cooking stations), Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations), Beverage (High-quality drinks included throughout the day (tea, coffee and coffee specialities, water, soft drinks, beer, prosecco, wines during bar opening hours). • Food tours for Belgian specialties
    Landmarks

  7. Day 7

    Nijmegen

You'll arrive in Nijmegen early at 6:00 AM but only have until noon before departure. Nijmegen is actually Holland's oldest city, founded by the Romans nearly 2,000 years ago along the Rhine River. The historical sites are worth checking out even in a short window. The student population here keeps things lively, and if you can squeeze it in, the city beaches provide a nice spot to relax for a bit before heading back to the boat around midday.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Beverage (High-quality drinks included throughout the day (tea, coffee and coffee specialities, water, soft drinks, beer, prosecco, wines during bar opening hours). Daily tea and coffee time.)

    • Explore Nijmegen independently with free e-bike (subject to availability)
    • Destination Scout insider tips for individual exploration ashore

    • Hanseatic city guided tours
    Landmarks
    Nijmegen
  8. Day 8

    Cologne

Cologne welcomes you at 8:00 AM, and this is where your Rhine cruise either starts heading north or south depending on your route. The cathedral dominates the city and the monuments around it are worth exploring. You'll have time before the cruise begins to walk through the old town and get oriented. Some people arrive early just to relax at a café and take in the city vibe, which is a solid approach if you're not in a rush.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Lunch (Comprehensive lunch buffet with live-cooking stations), Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations), Beverage (High-quality drinks included throughout the day (tea, coffee and coffee specialities, water, soft drinks, beer, prosecco, wines during bar opening hours). Service on board was excellent! Waiters and room service were great. But entertainment wise was rather poor. Cruise was was advertised as German and English mostly German was used. Out of 38 minutes in German, English was use for 3 minutes?? WE had to ask for some translation.. The Cruise administration and presentation on adverting are very misleading. Premium All-Inclusive is just a misleading name and I think it is not the right name for a package!!! Even to have a reserved seats for meals we were asked for daily fee!

This review is about a 7-day river cruise, not a guided tour. The Moselle River is a scenic delight, with vineyard-covered hillsides, charming villages, castles and chateaux. Our boat was the A-Rosa Silva. About 180 passengers. All meals buffet style. We ate very well. The wines included in Premium all-inclusive were mediocre. We knew from a previous A-Rosa cruise that most passengers are German and non English speaking. We missed not having anyone to talk with other than one couple with whom we sometimes shared a table at meal times. The boat did not have very effective AC. The dining room could get pretty uncomfortable. We sometimes took our plates up on deck, and that was lovely. We learned to keep our cabin shades down and curtains closed during the day when we were on the sunny side.
