Kilimanjaro International Airport to Moshi
You'll arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and get transferred to your hotel in Moshi. Once you check in, there's a pre-climb briefing where your guides go over equipment, confirm your medical coverage and travel insurance, and answer any last-minute questions before the trek starts.

- Day 2
Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
After breakfast, drive about an hour from Moshi to Marangu Gate for registration. From there, start trekking to Mandara Hut covering 11 km through varied vegetation with wildlife around. You'll climb from 1,860m to 2,700m over 5-7 hours, with breaks for rest and lunch along the way.

Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
Head out early after breakfast from Mandara Hut toward Horombo Hut, your second overnight stop. This 11 km trek takes about 6 hours as you rise to 3,720m. You'll see the snow-capped Kibo and Mawenzi peaks, different plant species, and have lunch during the hike. When you arrive, there's an acclimatization walk to help your body adjust.

Landmarks Horombo Hut - Day 4
Horombo Hut Acclimatization Day
This day is all about letting your body get used to the altitude. After a relaxed breakfast, trek 4 hours up to Zebra Rocks at 4,020m (they're named for the black and white stripes on the rock formations), then head back down to Horombo Hut for lunch. Spend the rest of the afternoon resting and preparing mentally for the next push.

Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
Trek about 9 km with roughly 1,000m of elevation gain heading south. You'll refill your water at Maua River before entering the dry Saddle terrain through Mawenzi Ridge. Even with less vegetation here, the views of Kilimanjaro's cones are really good. Reach Kibo Hut by dinner, then turn in early since you're leaving at midnight for the summit attempt.

Landmarks Kibo Hut Mawenzi Ridge - Day 6
Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak and Return
Summit day is the hardest part of your climb. Wake around 11 PM, grab breakfast, then trek for roughly 13 hours covering about 23 km with 1,176m elevation gain. You'll pass William's Point at 5,131m, Hans Meyer's Cave at 5,258m, and Gilman's Point at 5,719m before reaching Uhuru Peak at 5,895m around sunrise. After celebrating at the summit, descend back to Kibo Hut for rest and lunch, then continue down to Horombo Hut for dinner.

Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
Make your final descent through the heath and moor zone toward Mandara Hut where a warm lunch is waiting. Push through the tropical rainforest and reach Kilimanjaro National Park Gate after about 6 hours of trekking. Say thanks to your guides, then transfer back to your hotel in Moshi for a hot shower and to celebrate reaching the summit.

Rundugai Village and Chemka Hot Springs Cultural Tour
Head out on a full cultural day trip to Rundugai Village, about 1.5 hours or 38 km from Moshi. You'll swim at Chemka Hot Springs (a natural warm geothermal pool), visit local farmers and Maasai villages, watch traditional food preparation, do some cycling tours, explore cave trekking, and check out local markets. Lunch and water are included. Get back to Moshi for dinner.
