Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Windhoek
You'll arrive in Windhoek, Namibia's capital. Keep in mind that your international flight isn't part of this tour package, though the operator can help you arrange one if needed.
- Day 2
Windhoek
The tour picks you up at Windhoek airport by noon. If there's enough time, head to Daan Viljoen National Park where you can see zebra, wildebeest, blesbok, giraffe and ostriches. Later in the afternoon, walk through Windhoek's German-influenced town center and along Independence Avenue. Dinner comes at a local Namibian steakhouse.

Windhoek to Harnas
You'll drive northeast through Hereroland toward Harnas Wildlife Reserve, which focuses on big cat conservation. After a guided tour covering wildlife conservation and community projects, the group sets up camp. Dinner gets cooked over an open fire, and you'll sleep in a dome tent.

Harnas to Khaudum National Park
The drive heads through Kalahari foothills with sections of open and thick bushland. After crossing into Bushmanland, you'll stop in Tsumkwe for supplies and fuel before heading north to Khaudum National Park. This is one of Namibia's most untouched game reserves. You'll set up at Camp Sikeretti.

Landmarks/POIs Khaudum National Park Tsumkwe - Day 5
Khaudum National Park
Spend the day exploring Khaudum's vast grass and bush landscapes on game drives and reconnaissance trips. You might spot wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, hartebeest, roan antelope, sable antelope, elephant, leopard and lion. Learn to read animal tracks and behavior. Khaudum gains recognition as an elephant park in the second half of the year.

Khaudum National Park to Okavango, Botswana
The group crosses into Botswana at a small, rarely-used crossing near Tsumkwe. From there, continue to the Okavango, a 1700-kilometer river starting in Angola and ending in Botswana's desert interior. You'll camp on the riverbanks for two nights.

Okavango River
Start by taking a motorboat to discover the Okavango's plant and animal life. The river basin has incredible bird diversity. Hippos splash in the water and crocodiles bask on banks. You'll pass settlements and villages to see how Okavango people live and farm using traditional mokoros (dugout canoes). The rest of the day is free to relax, or take an afternoon boat tour with a sundowner cruise if available.

Okavango to Mahango National Park
After a short drive, you'll cross back into Namibia and enter Mahango National Park. Spend the morning watching buffalo, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, impalas, warthogs and vervet monkeys along the shoreline. Swamps here attract various water birds. Lunch happens at Popa Falls, where the camp sits beautifully on the river. Watch the red sunset with a cool drink.

Caprivi to Babwata National Park
Cross the Okavango River at Bagani and head into Caprivi National Park, Namibia's remote eastern corner bordered by Angola, Botswana and Zambia. Leave the asphalt behind for a winding bush path. Reach a beautiful camp on the Kwando River near Babwata National Park where you'll pitch your tent for two nights.

Kwando River
Hippo grunts and mist over the floodplains greet you at dawn. Vervet monkeys do acrobatics in the trees above. You'll travel along the Kwando River through deep riverbank sand with wildlife close by. An unforgettable day surrounded by nature.

Kwando River to Chobe National Park, Botswana
The drive continues to Katima Mulilo to get supplies. At Ngoma, you'll cross into Botswana and take the transit route through Chobe National Park. Set up at a hidden campsite just outside Kasane on the Chobe River for three nights. As sunset comes, sit by the fire and watch the landscape glow in golden light.

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Take an unforgettable day trip to Victoria Falls with a local tour company. The falls thunder into a long, narrow gorge where you can hike through the spray mist and return to viewpoints for different perspectives. The afternoon offers optional activities like a Zambezi boat trip or scenic flight over the falls. You'll get back to camp in Botswana by late afternoon.

Chobe National Park
Head out on a morning game drive in Chobe National Park along the river banks to see the park's abundant wildlife. The afternoon is yours to rest. If interested, take an optional boat trip on the Chobe River to watch hippos bathing and crocodiles basking.

Caprivi to Mamili National Park
Drive back to Namibia along the west bank of the Kwando River, crossing tributaries as needed, until reaching Mamili National Park (also called Nkasa Rupara). This fantastic wetland area in the Caprivi Strip has minimal tourism development and can be up to 80 percent water-covered after rain, with high density of large African animals. You'll camp outside the park for two nights.

Mudumu & Mamili National Parks
Another day of game drives in Mudumu and Mamili national parks. No roads exist here, only deep sandy tracks that need four-wheel drive vehicles. This insider-tip park rivals well-known Chobe Park in Botswana. You'll see elephants, buffalo, hippos, rare antelope species and many other animals.

Mamili to Rundu
Travel the 'Golden Highway' back toward the Okavango River. You'll see local life right on the riverbanks as everything gathers here: old and young people, goats, cows, chickens, dogs. It's a long drive but good speed on the well-maintained asphalt road. Reach a beautiful camp near Rundu in the late afternoon and watch the sun sink into the river while hearing distant drumming.

Rundu to Bushman Village
After hearty breakfast, drive toward Grootfontein. Before the 'red border line' (the former buffer zone from the border war), you'll see typical Black African settlement character. Buy traditional woodwork at roadside stands. Stop at a guest farm campsite shortly before Grootfontein. In the afternoon, visit a Bushman village to learn about their traditional life, desert survival skills, fire-making, hunting methods and trap construction.

Otjiwa Game Farm
First rays of sun wake you at dawn. The journey continues to a beautiful camp on Otjiwa Game Farm. You can take optional game drives or simply relax by the swimming pool.

Otjiwa to Windhoek
Check out Okahandja timber market for last-minute souvenir shopping before heading to Windhoek for the final leg. You'll arrive in the capital around 2 pm. An evening flight is possible, or you can extend your stay on a private farm or game lodge for a relaxing end to your trip.
