Itinerary
- Day 1
Windhoek to Etosha National Park
Your pickup happens at 07:00 from your Windhoek accommodation, then you'll head to Chameleon Headquarters for a pre-departure briefing. The drive north takes you through Otjiwarongo where you'll grab supplies and have a light lunch before entering Etosha National Park. You'll spend the afternoon on a game drive through this massive 22,000 sq km park, stopping at various waterholes to look for wildlife. By sunset you'll reach your lodge and have dinner at the camp restaurant. After dark, head to the floodlit waterhole near the accommodation where you might see elephants and the endangered black rhinos coming in to drink.

- Day 2
Etosha National Park
After breakfast, you'll spend your entire day in an open game viewer exploring Etosha with your guide. Early morning is your best chance to spot big cats heading back from hunts. Throughout the day you'll move between different waterholes waiting for animals to come drink. You'll stop to see the Etosha Pan, a 4,700 sq km white mineral expanse that's visible from space. Later in the afternoon as the sun gets lower, you'll exit at Anderson Gate and transfer to your new accommodation. Check into your twin-share room with modern facilities and have dinner there.

Etosha to Skeleton Coast to Swakopmund
You'll leave early heading west toward the Skeleton Coast through Damaraland on gravel roads. The drive takes you past Outjo and through scenic landscape with mountains, pink granite koppies, and grasslands. Along the way you can stop at informal shops to meet locals from Himba, Herero, and Damara tribes and pick up handcrafted souvenirs. You'll have a light picnic lunch near Brandberg, Namibia's highest mountain at 2,573 m. After that, continue west to the Atlantic coast to see the Skeleton Coast landscape and view the 2008 shipwreck of The Zeila. You'll arrive in colonial Swakopmund by evening, check into your centrally located hotel, and get a full briefing on the rest of your trip before saying goodbye to your guide.

- Day 4
Walvis Bay Cruise
You'll be collected at a set time for a cruise on Walvis Bay lagoon, a 40 km drive south along the dramatic coast. This Ramsar-designated wetland is home to Cape Fur seals, great white pelicans, and three dolphin species including bottlenose and dusky. Weather permitting you might spot humpback whales, southern right whales, sunfish, leatherback turtles, African penguins, and both greater and lesser flamingos. You'll visit the Pelican Point lighthouse built in 1932, and if conditions allow, take a short sail on the Atlantic. Near the end of your excursion, you'll have light lunch with local fish and Walvis Bay oysters, sparkling wine, and Namibian beer. You return to Swakopmund in the afternoon with free time for optional activities, and dinner is on your own.

Sandwich Harbour Excursion
You'll be collected for an excursion to Sandwich Harbour, one of Namibia's more adventurous outings. Travel south along the coast beyond Walvis Bay into the desert where access gets challenging but spectacular. You'll navigate through the Kuiseb River Delta, high dunes, and along the beach before driving 8 km on a narrow strip between towering dunes and the Atlantic (timing matters because high tide closes this route). Sandwich Harbour was once a hub for whaling and fishing but is now pristine and beautiful with a silted-up lagoon and good walking areas along the shore. On the return journey, you'll experience roller coasting as you drive over some of Namibia's highest dunes. Dinner is on your own account.

Swakopmund to Windhoek
Your last morning gives you a few hours to walk around Swakopmund's small town centre before collection at 13:00. If you want to do something active, optional activities include scenic flights over shipwrecks and desert, bicycle tours, living desert excursions with specialist guides, quad biking, skydiving, or sandboarding. At 13:00 you'll be picked up for the drive back to Windhoek, which takes no longer than five hours. You'll be dropped off at your accommodation anywhere within Windhoek city limits.
